front number plate

hey guys

my front number plate is on the right hand (drivers side) of the front of the car. because its there it sorta bends slightly around the side of the car.

im not sure if a camera will or wont pick up my whole plate so im wondering if its illegal?

standing in front of the car it is totally 100% visible tho.

I think the ruling is that if you stand 5m directly infront of the vehicle you should be able to see the entire license plate.

well i had my number plate on the right hand side for a while and guess what ... i still managed to cop a speeding fine from a camera.

i was also pulled over while having my plate there and they didnt say anything

Well as long as your number plate is visible from the front it is still legal.

If you see current Alfa Rome models, they all have front number plate at one side due to the fact that they have that weird triangular grill....

depends if you want to take the chance of attracting attention to your car.

I had mine on the right because of the clever-heads and bentley garage. When i got pulled over by a cop he whinged about it and threatened to fine me $100 if he saw it there again.

Might not be illegal, but it only takes one policeperson to argue otherwise and you will have a fine or be attracting them to look over the rest of your car.

I've been through an RBT and have also had it parked outside the cop shop (so obviously plenty of police walking past) and have never had a problem.

been pulled over a number of times and having the plate on the side has never been a problem, thats with the bumper chopped for the cooler too

nope its not illegal as long as the plate is displayed and can be seen by oncoming traffic.

mines on the RHS as well and ive been thru a couple of cameras and not received fines woot! But then a month or so ago I got one. Not so invincible after all

Also had no cops ticking me off for it and its been like that for ages.

besides people stare at it all the time hehe, especially when im at the lights and people walk past the car

mine is on the right hand side and follows the contour of the bumper as well.. i have never had any grief over it. been over the pits twice with it in that spot. the inspector said it was fine where it was.

I've been over the pits twice they said nothing,been pulled over a few times and nothing and then one day a cop said "You can't move the number plate more than 10cm's from the original spot" and I said I've been over the pits and he said "ok thats alright then" LOL
