Seems like this would be a good product if your ECU doesnt have data logging, like my f**king awesome Microtech hahaha

Also a WMI data logger kit

haha ye I was gonna say that. I'm sure the Link & other ECU's can be configured to do exactly the same thing as it's really just a sensor input and an action resulting on that input.

Interesting none the less, more to the point of how it would integrate correctly and trigger.

Although not cheap. If it's $300 in the US, by the time it gets here and Aussie distro's gouge us, it'll probably be near $400

This is true lol, but ive got a sick obsession with Microtechs, i think its because there an aussie company hahaha and i like going against the norm, all my tuner mates call me crazy and compare microtechs too ancient tech but yeahh...i try too keep everything i buy from aussies, but theres just some things i cant get here =(

and Link is a Christchurch based company that lost it's HQ's in the earthquake :( - i bought like a month or so after it happened, so don't feel bad buying from them either - supporting the ANZAC spirit :D

then buy something decent like a link...

Must admit though the AEM v2 is one of the best ecu's worldwide.. tuned about 6 or 7 now and love them....

Interesting....

Haven't had any dramas with any?

I keep hearing reports of the aem stuff dying in the ass for reasons unknown

lol, went the Haltech ps2000 over the Autronic. Hope i made the right choice..

Their ve tuning is a lot shite compared to the autronic so I would just tune it like a normal dumb ecu. For some reason tps is a variable in their ve equation which is fine if you have a table to tune but when you don't it makes it really hard to tune.

As far as control systems go the autronic is a lot more adaptable and has more oem like functions although the haltech does come in a pretty box.....

haha just bought a car with a wolf from newcastle.... im gonna have a ecu piss on and burn party soon :P

Yeah maybe one day you'll learn how to tune them and they won't seem so bad.

This one plus all the other 8 and 9 second cars they do don't seem to have a problem. If you want to have a pissing contest, I have no hesitation comparing notes on what your favourite ECU is capable of VS what the V550 can do.

You made the wrong choice. The Autronic is still a better ECU

Here are some more cars if you doubt what the wolf can do Trent. Not only drag cars, all of them are street registered cept the Celica.

All the cars we have tuned by Sean at EFI drive as smooth as OEM tunes and go faster on the track than most.

Agreed the autronic is in another league. I love them, did a 400+rwkw flex fuel setup with one not long back and it was a little light on axis points in the flex table but it did the job fantastically.

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
