You pair have nothing

You want a long cruise head out through cessnock to broke then take Charlie's road across to putty rd the head out the golden hwy to sandy hollow and turn onto Bylong Valkey way which goes back to Richmond then a short hop to Windsor and back up putty road to singleton and home

that doesnt look too bad, but looks to actually be a shorter route!

The Putty run we did a few years back was a long day, we did Old Pac, Galston Gorge, Windsor and then Putty Rd through to Singleton..... It was a 2 fuel stop trip on that run..... On that note, how far is that drive in KM? And have you mapped out fuel stops? (Taking into account that ill only make <300kms to a tank lol

ful trip is 650kms... you would have to see where to get your fuel from.

I will bring a spare bottom end, ill have to change that out when u guys fix what u break

Good plan! Anyone got a 2 poster they can bring?

I fuelled up in Sydney and then again in Singleton on our run.....

But my flex fuel is back on now so i can run whatever, not an issue :) Just have to run low boost with normal pump fuel :( Only 19psi lol

may need to plan this one for winter so its easier on the cars haha..

Yeah plus cooler = more wasps! And if the car bursts into flames we can all sit around the campfire and inhale the E85 goodness!

so the bad news for this week. according to my mechanic my crank shaft is f*cked an my easiest and cheapest way out is an engine swap. honestly i hate my life.

anyone know of any dirt cheap r33 rb25de motors kicking around?

Is the head still good?

If its a DE as you say then any VL bottom end with a light hone, new rings and bearings and your head fitted should do nicely

You need to fit an idler pulley for the belt return and I think that's it

Best bet is to do a search on here as there is a heap of info around just have to find it

As far as legalities go I'm not sure but if original engine number then no capacity increase

Sell car and get a PULSAR VZ-R N1. Iron chef has one up for sale. SR16VE N1 Engine.... stock 200hp, 1090kg and 6.8 secs 0-100

Put on a full exhaust, apexi power FC, splitfire super direct ignition, etc and youll have around 300hp at the flywheel and 0-100 in 5 second territory.

f**k that sucks man. wonder how much it'll cost to how much you could sell it for.

N/A engines should be cheap and pretty easy to get ahold of man!

    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
    • Yes then it will turn on but I want the car features to work
    • My thought is if you were just moving it forward and the upstream geometry remained the same, then no difference at all. But because the current one has the filter direct into the AFM inlet, you effectively have the best chance of a completely symmetric air flow profile upstream, and in, the AFM, whilst the aftermarket inlet thingo has a (small, to be sure) bend between the filter and the AFM. That would bias the flow to the outside of the bend (downstream of the bend) which might well reduce the size of the signal seen by the AFM, for the same total flow rate. Having said that: If you're proposing to make your inlet look like a hybrid of your existing one and the aftermarket one, such that there is no bend where the filter is clamped on... then I say it will be just fine. If there is going to be such a bend, then, if you can align the insertion of the AFM blade such that it is at right angles to the plane of the bend, then there is a better than even chance that the centreline velocity where the blade is will remain more or less the same, and the velocity will just be a little faster to the outside of that, and just a little slower to the inside. **This is not professional investment advice and you should consult a suitably qualified ouija board, tea leaves or the intestines of a goat for more accurate prognostication.
    • Hi Tao, Thanks for your reply.  It's been a while and I managed to get the valve stem seals replaced with the head on the car.  Unfortunately this didn't solve my issue, the car still smokes a lot after idling (to be honest during idle you can see a bit of blue smoke from the exhaust), same after deceleration. I will try disconnecting the valve cover breathers, do I leave the PCV valve in? By engine oil drain pipe, do you mean the turbo oil drain?
    • What about if you just give it direct 12v and earth?
