GM have been offering it as an option since 2007 in their northern built trucks. the way they do it though it quite a bit different to the aftermarket setup. add to the fact that most of the aftermarket installers will not (and often do not care) fit all the safety interlocks.

what MEA have done is open a can of worms. there is also a bias on that as the author works for DEI locally..

Yeah chris i know that , to me its like a turbo timer pure wank , sure i would like a cool car in hot days but you know the local scum would think they could steal the car even if they couldnt get two feet in it !! Its not worth broken window

The outdoor show car scene might grab a extra point lol

I want the car that can load the groceries in a down pour via remote haha

At some point it may fall back on the installers shoulders (you shouldnt install it since its a safety hazard ) liability issue? counter sued ?

the aftermarket parts sold that dont have disclaimers informing you a turbo timer is a defect ? that kind of deal and if the installer/ sales person / shop got fined for doing the wrong thing

It would open up a can of worms , selling items not legal for road use in australia? The nanny country lol

We should all drive airbags on wheels with gps control automatic speed sensor for each street which wouldnt work, the same street a block apart changes 2-3 times in speed in adelaide lol

Just think a car shaped like a marshmallow to protect us !!

Conform , succumb and obey lol

think about the CARB EO tags stuck on US based perfomance items. same idea when you look at it from a legal stance.

if we get into the aftermarket parts that do not conform debate then that really opens up a can of worms.

I don't think turbo timer's or Remote starts are pure wank.

Remote start is probably one of the best features of my skylines ;)

Cause when I'm on the shitter before I leave work, I can start my car and know its going to be ready for the daily commute :)

Always nicer to drive a car that has been idling a bit then driving off on a pure cold engine.

It's not like there going to know if you have it, my mate has had one since forever been pulled over heaps and never been seen.

Why would your mate have one on a push bike?

In the morning I start my car before I put my shoes on, and turn it off after I check the mail. Pretty simple...

Not sure about all states but in vic its illegal to have your car running when no one is right there with it. therefor making it a bit of a pointless thing

its a big ? , just like ADR in general state by state, who even knows anymore its a shot in the dark for all mods

its wank factor anyhow

Starting your car and walking two steps away you can be done for "aiding and abeiting "a criminal so watch out , same goes for keys in a car even in your driveway in whoop whoop , police can and will give you a summons for it , my friend got done in his driveway

Exactly - I pop the panel lift door and start the car in the garage every morning 5 minutes before I leave so that when I get out to the car I have 1) a nice and cool/warm cabin (depending on the season) and 2) engine all nicely warmed up - I need to pull out onto an arterial road within 1 minute of leaving my home, so need to give it a bit of stick in order to pull out safely ....

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
