Hi ladies and gents. My 2.8 BFOT build is coming down to the business end and im looking for a fuel pump to do what i want. BEFORE i get any of the bosch brigade, i do not want multiple pumps, i wanf ONE feed pump and ONE fuel pump, that is all. Ive looked at the weldon range and im impressed, but i was offered a Fuel Labs Prodigidy Digitally controlled full speed controlled fuel pump for a very reasonable price. Just looking for anyone who may have any experiences with fuel labs products.

Yes, 3 or 4 were sent back to the supplier from here recently. 2 of them failed on first fire up backing a car off the trailer.

My honest opinion - stay away

Others may have not had the same experience but when we get a series of failures all in a row, we start to ask questions. Fuel pump definitely must be one the best quality parts on your car

any suggestions as to what may suit my needs elite? Im going big as future plans may mean bigger turbo and head combo.

i currently have ID2000's and a nismo intank which will be used as the lift pump.

I've use one fuel lab pump which was supplied by a customer. It worked okay but it also failed about 6months latter.

I use Weldon personally. Despite being noisey they get the job done.

If your using one of the large pumps I'd advise setting the surge tank up so the Weldon can create vacuum inside the surge and fill it up itself ( they are actually designed to draw fuel vertically up to 4ft)

I've found that when using a lift pump to feed the surge the weldon will create enough negative pressure to collapse the hose feeding the tank.

One -12 from surge to bottom of main tank.

One -12 from pump inlet to surge

All engine returns running back to main tank (to allow maximum vacuum inside the surge tank)

Has work perfectly on several circuit GTR's and national V8 taxis I've converted to E85.

I'm using one as a transfer pump, apparently its the only pump they could sell me that will suck up a hose. Its a weird shape to try and fit into a tank though.

Have you looked at the 416 Walbro's? They look the goods but I have been waiting for one for a month now. Perhaps the Nismo/Tomei are still the best option for GTR's?

what about pierberg pumps. Have heard good things but would like some experience with them

What would you like to know Alan. I have a pair of them feeding my 25/30 making 580 rwhp on E85.

Zero problems and quieter than other pumps.

Just about fitment, support, failures ect ect. Ive had plenty of bad luck on this car in the past so i am wanting to make sure i get it right

Dont know what to say other than they have been in the car for a year or 2 and I dont even think about them. I guess thats the best rap there is. Set and forget.

I have a pair of them mounted in the boot and they mount like any other cylindrical pump.

Totally happy with their performance to date.

      Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch.       A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
