odessy
I have got a 32 but no longer have a licence to drive it. Car will be unregistered for 7 months until I get it back. I have only just purchased it with 120 on the clock. I want to change the diff's (gts4), gearbox, engine oils and engine coolant before re-registering it. Am I better off waiting until just before I re-register to do all this, can I start now or is it not going to make much difference? The car will be started weekly with a possible sneaky lap around the block. sydking
just get a trickel charger for $30 at auto barn/repco mate, if you have good tyers, Over enflate them so they dont get flat spots, Dont see a drive around the block doing much as it wouldent even give time for the brakes to heat up let alone anythign other, turn the ignition for 10 min once a week and you should be fine, Throw in a fresh batch of oil aswell before storing Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/405173-car-storage-7-months/#findComment-6451714 Share on other sites
Moodles2
Keep the tank low before storing, so in 7 months time you can put in a near full tank of fresh fuel. Maybe try a bottle of fuel stabilizer so it doesn't go stale. odessy
If I redo the oil now should I redo it when it comes time to drive it again? Fuel tank is pretty empty. odessy
Actually I might leave the oil as it was done very recently. Going to do the gearbox and diff oils though when I get a weekend off. Is it bad to change these and just let it sit? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/405173-car-storage-7-months/#findComment-6451816 Share on other sites
