http://www.duttonrally.com/index_nsw.php for info. 9.30 is kick off. I think they've shuffled the order of events slightly, may be the WSID bit first???

Preliminary report from Goulburn, Saturday:

I went down friday night and caught the action today. Pete put on a spectacular display on the motorkhana section at the Police Driver Training Centre. It will make the TV for sure.

The 31 has some issues with understeer but Duncan and Pete are still enjoying themselves immensely. Dan and Kel are ripping the track up with the Z with Kel putting in an exceptional performance on behalf of the ladies and leaving many of the blokes to eat her dust. Dan is trying his drift moves anywhere he can to get the edge on the competition. Matt and co-driver (sorry abt name) are also having a hoot in the 32.

I had to return to Syd so missed the Sutton road section and the mainstreet Motorkhana.

See you guys at the creek tomorrow.

the caster rod bushes were GOOOOONNEEE in the 31 so we (kyle and myself) went into town and thankfully supercheap had some in stock :D

unfortunately Pete missed his 2nd hillclimb run but the car was back in action none the less.

Fantastic weekend... I can't wait for next year

I also have 4GB worth of photo's.... shall get the good ones up sometime

Well, first up thanks for all the support from the club and forums, there was a great turn up on Sunday, not to mention the hard core drinkers who made it along all weekend (not that they made any events on saturday morning after a big friday night tho!)

Full results are not up yet, but we certainly didn't make the top 10 this year. Simmo on the other hand did, coming first outright in the EVO 8, top effort against some top notch competition :D

Highlights of the weekend score-wise went to Dan who landed a 4th place in his first shot at the Button Rally, after a top run in the wet figure 8 at EC. Also a huge effort by Pete to pedal a very recalcitrant R31 around Eastern Creek track in 1.53 on very poor street tyres. Kel was kicking my arse all weekend in the motorkhana stages, although she did require a quick underwear change after a big off on the Sutton Road hillclimb!

Pete also landed 3rd co-driver in a hard fought class of 3, and got a trophy. Since there were 4 drivers in class A I missed out :)

:bahaha:

Kel = ;) (nude!)

Had a top weekend, and finance permitting I'll be back next year FOR SURE! Might take a porka and see if I get a hello from anybody this time...

Big thanks to Kel for letting me at her Z and treating it with the utmost disrespect! ;)

Also Big thanks to Jody for all her support over the weekend... was certainly tough at times.

My highlights for the weekend.

Following Pete's suggestions and breaking SUPPER late in the 4th event the short course at wakefield... turns out the bastard set me up... I'll get mine one day!

Kel's HUGE off at the Fairbairn Park (Sutton Road) hill climb event... OMG!

Pete's drift display in the main street motokarna and him litterally stopping the event while he drifted it up LARGE at the goulburn ploice academy finishing both events with a reverse park in the timing box!

And Duncan... locking front AND BACK wheels, attempting to drift (and achieving spin) and actually keeping the engine revs below 7000rpm!

Oh, and I think I might require a liver transplant! :)

What a trip... 100% recomend it to anyone... espicially if you have a group of bods like we did tag along with us... thanks to you guys also... especially for friday... FREEZING!

this is a must do for next year. unfortunately i couldnt get out there this weekend but i had enough updates to know what was going on!

well done guys!!!

heres some of the results that i was interested in....

can someone describe what is the "short circuit" at waker's?

cheers,

f

Definitely an experience and great to see some japanese machinery win (although not a Nissan!!)- an awesome weekend if not bloody cold!!! There Simon (my co-driver) and I were thinking the jackets we got were too thick and we would never wear them - boy were we wrong!!!

Although we were never in the running to be competitive, we had no incidents except for my "pirouette" on the wakefield short course!!! The 32 definitely needed more power and tighter handling but that's the plan for the next 12 months!!! Great meeting a few of you - sorry didn't hang back for a beer, was totally shagged and needed sleep ;)

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
