Looking at getting a dual exhaust install in the near future, but the exhaust shop said it not impossible as looking underneath the PNM35

there is room for another muffler, BUT there is this canister on the way. He said it needs to be remove/reposition somehow. Its look like a carbon canister that had some pipes connected to the fuel tank. Has anyone done a dual exhaust here, cant seems to find any threads regarding to the above topic. Please help.

Note the smaller passenger side muffler on that Zees exhaust that Alex linked to. Only thing you have to remove to fit one of them is the rear tow hook.

I have a V36 exhaust coming from Japan (should be here in a couple of weeks) and will be fitting that to my PNM35.

Will let you know how I go and what is needed (I already have a Y50 Fuga rear sway bar to accommodate the twin piping).

  • 1 month later...

Looks pretty cool. Now you just need some kind of lower skirt to finish it off

Thanks Ryan, I was just thinking about it awhile ago. Maybe a rear diffuser, but not sure what to make/buy etc. I dont want to look tacky tho.

Stock V36 sedan exhaust

IMAG0263r.jpg

Silent when cruising and a rather nice throaty growl when accelerating :)

Interested to hear it when I finally get around to installing the cats and extractors.

Carbon canister located horizontally (have had it mounted this way for a few weeks with no issue)

Thanks to Scott for welding on the extensions and extra exhaust mounts.

Oh that look good. Is it safe for that canister to be lying sideways?

Haven't had an issue with the canister or fumes in the 3 weeks I have had it mounted that way.

I read that the only problem is when they are mounted upside down - although I can't imagine a scenario where you'd do that.

That said, I would like to remount it vertically if I can find some space for it (highly doubtful).

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
