Hey people sometimes I get restricted on boost

Such as not getting full boost all the time

How often? i get it sometimes on long trips the car will lower the boost to half bar instead of 1 bar. I think its a heat issue but still havent really worked it out fully yet.

It happens on long and short trips an even though a trip an yeah half bar aswell

I've read once that the transmission cooler might be the issue

i dont get an engine light when it happens to me.

Me either also my stock boost gauge works when it wants

there is a fix for that boost gauge issue steve. You need to soldier some dry joints in the sensor under the bonnet. Scotty posted up a how to some here on here

This happens to me on long trips and doubt the temp is a problem as i was driving in -3 deg temps to sydney in august. I was told to get a boost controller with solenoid to replace factory unit. Maybe this will help. I started a thread on here somewhere about the issue.

its the solenoid for the wastegate actuator. probably stuck open. i replied on the other forum too.

someone will have a spare around!

I can get mine to do this if I give it a solid pasting when it is not fully up to temp.

Switch off the ignition, and restart the car; back to full boost.
