Hi Mate

Good to see another workshop around, but you'll need to check the forum rules in relation to advertising - only site sponsors are able to advertise services on this forum. No doubt you'll be getting a note from one of the Admins in relation to this.

One question - why import replicas/knockoffs when most of the replicas (ie Nardi Wheels) are cheap non adr approved merchandise that break under the slightest amount of stress? I'm pretty sure most people here would rather pay for quality parts that they know won't break on them (and cause them injury/death)- not to mention the legal hassle from having non adr items fitted to the car (police/insurance)

I am also parting out cars of genuine parts, but the best way to put it simply is that there is people working on a budget that will be interested in buying these parts, mainly body kits etc.

OK. What I'd mainly like to point out is that u probably don't want to sell chinese knockoffs here. I would guess that 99% of the people on this forum don't do the 'pretend lookalike' thing because they appreciate the finer details, like having a steering wheel that wont actually snap into two pieces when going full lock. Parting out is great, everyone needs that but please, please, I beg you, don't import cheap imitation shit. The market is already flooded with that crap and I can guarantee that if your business name gets associated with crap products then you wont last 12 months. Sorry if I'm the bearer of bad news, but thats where its at. The online market has neutralized the non-players and it will take a man with a very well thought out business strategy to make headways in this era - and importing imitation BS will do you more harm than good.

So, I would recommend trading on your skills and knowledge, not what you can get 'cheap'.

The poor man pays twice.

as Ben already pointed out we have rules about Traders and being able to Trade

how many SAU Traders do you see in the >>Classified section<< they all pay for the privillage to Trade under the SAU banner please follow the rules,

best of luck with your chinese rubbish, i suspect eBay might be a better option

Port adelaide has to be the worse place to open a jap import biz , nobody goes near it for fear of defects and to get there car stolen for ram raids

but I guess shipping containers cost less to go a few blocks

When is someone going to turn villis into the garage cafe lol

Best of luck fleabay has plenty of parts or they can be sourced easy

Sorry bud, had to remove your initial post.......please read the rules re advertising before posting again.

You need to subscribe to these forums by way of annual fee in order to advertise....good luck with the business.

I have purchased a part from Leigh , nice guy. I am sure he didnt go out of his way to break the rules (but they are there for a reason) .

Didnt see any cheap chinese gear laying around, just parting out cars and selling the go fast bits from them for cheap.

Given he is a one man band and only starting up, annual fee's may be prohibitive to advertise for him.

Is he allowed to advertise as a private seller ?

Only reason I ask, is I live near the port and having an import wrecker so close is handy .

Only other option I have close is Japco, then its a fair drive elsewhere.

i would say not but he is more than welcome to post in the forums help other members out with idea's (not mentioning shop) and get a feel for the community

good praise is better than advertising

Honestly though, for any variety of half-decent business, $400 to become an SAU sponsor for 6 months (or $600 for 12 months) and get perfectly targeted advertising on here is chicken feed - especially when compared to any other media.

And we have to be fair to our paid sponsors and restrict this sort of thread .....

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
