got a metal inlet/exhaust gasket kit, few speedflow fittings, oil pump and gasket ahead of the weekend. No fkn way im gonna be pulling this motor out again lol. On that topic, anyone got a black heater hose kit for 32 gtr laying round?

All good man, Im really after the hoses under the plenum as i vaguely recall someone telling me they split in their old age...

Or maybe after watching your car piss coolant at the calendar cruise i realised that sucks and i'd rather not have to pull the motor again :)

split dump is fouling the wastegate for some reason.

dunno why... it worked fine for ages, now i cant grind enough out to make it work, ill grind through.

wtf happened? dunno.

Time to get a bellmouth dump, maybe all new system.

7 hours and no luck...

you need a break, eat & drink for brain power, do some reading on the forums, and the solution/problem will become clearer.

We had the works !

Drinks and Rob (Not a Pulsar) on the phone giving us guidience, also Google was a bit of a mate on the night.

A lot of it was testings up the road so pulling in and out = sucked. But, some boys on SAU reckon they've got the fix. My Spark plugs may not be "gapped". So will check that and HOPEFULLY it'll stop misfiring.

Trying to figure out Overheating when sitting above 110kph..

Fresh coolant and clean, no luck..

New thermostat and more coolant. time to test again, fingers crossed.

Slight change in temps across radiator, so maybe some minor blockage there, look into a proper flush next, or just upgrade it as I want to do that anyway..

got motor out, changed all the water hoses and inlet gaskets, removed the remainder of the wtin turbo water and vacume lines that arent used and tidied up the engine bay a bit. pretty productive, not as much as id hoped though :/

no wheels for me tomorrow so yall have fun without me

Are you painting them another colour?

I really wouldn't mind painting mine

I was considering painting the centers Black but after the enormous sh!tfight I've had stripping them I might leave them as is.

I do like the result alot. You reckon I should paint Black or not?

Much better than the uneven goldish crud they had when purchased. (SAU Third or Fourth Handies)

I have painted some R32 GTS-t rims before and it was a heap of fun. Not bad result either.

Looks good. Painting those wheels black may be too unnoticeable. How much did all the stuff you need cost? Im convinced I must do this now.

Any ideas what colour wheels would suit maroon?

So far the paint stripping exercise has cost me less than $40. Paint stripper gel and wire brushes. I bought some brushes to use on a drill but they got little use. Hand job FTW!!!

The painting of the GTS-t rims was all done with cheap cans from Supercheap (except the primer) but if I do it again, I would use better paint like engine enamel as it should be tougher and longer lasting.

OT. I washed my car and drove it to "WHEELS" at the Racecourse. With the wind and dust, it is dirtier now than before I washed it! :(

Show pics of car with rims you want to paint for colour choice suggestions... Black, Gold or Bronze should be good with Maroon though. :)

    • Hi all, I’ve just finished fitting the timing belt on my RB25, following the standard procedure: rotate the crank twice, release the tensioner, then tighten it down. The belt feels tight, and you can see that clearly in the picture below I’ve heard some people say it’s actually better for the belt to be slightly loose rather than too tight, as excessive tension can lead to snapping. So that’s in the back of my mind. What I’m seeing is this:  • At idle, the belt looks fine.  • But when cranking and especially when revving (around 3–4,000 RPM), there’s a momentary flap/flex or flicker in the belt, which I’ve tried to capture in the video. So my question is — based on what you see, is this slight belt movement something you’d consider normal, or am I just being OCD? Could this amount of movement cause sync issues? Or is it just a harmless bit of flex under load?   from what I know belt flap and flex is expected when crank spins up and pull cam with it Would appreciate any thoughts or similar experiences.     IMG_7656.mov IMG_7657.mov
    • I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).
    • Lol.. but then.. always come back to a JDM..
    • Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
    • The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.
