Hi guys was just wondering if you guys could help. Recently got a respray and a new body kit to fit on my r32 gtst. I told him if its too low not to put the kit on and just spray the old one and il fit that one back on. I went to pick it up as I work away and I could barely get the thing out of his driveway. Now I have a car with absolutely no engine problems but can't drive it anywhere. Could u please give me some suggestions???? ie suspension job or just rip the bloody thing off?

Any help would be great

Thanks

What kit is it? And are you running coils? Either just raise it a bit if you are, or put the old kit back on. Or just take time to learn balance between the kit and ride height and I'm sure you'll be able to drive it. That's what happened with mine, after a whille you get used to what angles to take, where the car will and won't scrape etc.

Um it's a aftermarket one my mate got from over in the motherland. Its made buy one of his mates over there. its a really nice kit and different to any other ive seen so i sorta want to keep it. Nah not running coils yet I got a set ready but didn't know if it would raise it enough?? Nah it's not even possible to drive on at the moment. I've got about an inch under the front bar lol I had the stockies on it and couldn't even get up my driveway which is flat.

As above, raise it up a little,

I suppose the lesson to learn here is don't take someone elses opinion on what is "too low" for your car as everyone is going to have a different idea.

Same would go for an exhaust shop and telling them not to make it "too loud" if you get where im going.

Grab some higher res shots, would be good to see the full car closer, i imagine the colour would get you quite a bit of attention.

1) raising the car (as stated above) is a must

2) check rolling diameter of wheel/tyre combo with specs or a mate's gtst to see if tyre profile is correct

You know what the minimum height is off the ground don't you?

Oh yea ok then thanks for the info. The under body of the car is not low at all. When the old kit was on it it looked like a 4x4 lol I haven't been in Australia very long but the minimum height for a car in nz is 100mm is it the same here? But yea I know it was a silly move letting them estimate wether it was low or not but I work in NT and it was just way too hard to communicate with them lol I have some high res pics but it says they're always to big to put on here. If someone could help I have them on my phone

Thanks

Judging by the tyres in the guards it has been lowered, unless the tyres are a much bigger outside diameter. In QLD it is 100mm from any point and I believe that's the case everywhere else.

Oh yea cool thanks. Yea well it was lowered a bit but I didn't have any worries about judder bars or anything. But now it's just too much lol I have to put the coilys on just to get out of the driveway. I have some but they're from my mates 32. Any suggestions on a new set? Just for a daily

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
