Eric will reveal the grand plan soon, but

even if a few of us arrive together it is likely that you'll still get split up a little, as various cars will need to let other cars going to the event in at intersections, traffic lights etc so we need to revise any expectations that we will definitely all be able to park together and just enjoy the night regardless. I'm sure no one really expects we can all stay in one group but you can only do what you can and one should be prepared for a bit of a palaver

Just fingers crossed there are no d**kheads anywhere near us or our cars.

Ok, so here is THE PLAN!

(Huge thanks to NXTIME for finding and scouting the location for us!)

A member has a contact that works in this business park. It has been verified to be pretty much empty by 5:00 pm on a Friday and has tons of room for the SAU crowd. We don't know if there will be other groups meeting there (since this is a public event) but it easily accomodates between 80 and 100 cars.

It goes without saying that anyone revving their engines, burn outs, loud music or generally bad behaviour will be asked to immediately leave and will be reported to the authorities. Being in this group you are representing SAU:NSW and our code of conduct, member or not.

Two groups probably means that the SAU entries in the mega meet will be in at least two locations, assuming they park the mega meet cars first come first serve. VIP's will be in one group and general entry in the other.

Group 1: VIP's and SAU Trade Stand Entries (we only have room for about 8 on our trade stand and they have already been identified)

Meet up at the location at 4:30 and will be departing at 5:00 pm SHARP to go the few minutes to the Mega Meet location. A small group of execs/trade stand members will depart earlier to report back on the entry conditions. This MAY require earlier departure time if queuing is bad.

SO BE PREPARED TO DEPART ANY TIME BETWEEN 4:30 AND 5:00 PM!

Group 2: General Entry should arrive to the meet location between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Group two should depart the location at 6 PM sharp!

If the groups get split by the traffic lights there isn't a whole lot we can do as we expect the whole area to be chock full of cars trying to get to the meet. So do your best and don't try any funny business to stay together.

As long as the groups leave together we can try to reassemble in the meeting parking lot.

Expect a long queue and to be sitting on idle for a while.

TIP! Be sure to check your radiator fluid to make sure your car won't over heat.

MEETING LOCATION: Industrial Car Park off Holbeche Rd & Walters Rd, Arndell Park (Meeting will be in the Red Triangle marked on the map)

DO NOT enter from Holbeche Rd as that driveway is steep and crested. The two driveways on Walters Rd are lip/exhaust friendly, with the on on the lowest part of this picture being nearly flat.

^ This worries me! Hopefully I won't over heat...

Just to be safe - Full coolant flush that morning :D

If your car doesn't overheat in traffic then shouldn't be a worry. Just not a lot of us end up sitting for 1/2 hour creeping down the road so I thought it would be a good idea to put the tip out.

Also, updated info on driveways (thanks again Charlie!). The one on Holebeche Rd has a crest that doesn't like exhausts so best to enter from the Walters rd end.

Don't know what time i'll be there, I work in the area but may have to unload my truck back at liverpool, say may not be there until 9pm.

That's ok though, the "red ssv utes with real motors" parking area wont have many cars in it :P

Yeah, what happens if 2,000 people get VIP tickets.

2000 VIP spots if all taken > Pay an extra $10 at the gate for a VVIP spot hehe..

Have a great time fellahs - especially at the SAU display!

Oh, was also going to mention that there will be an award (as per website) for best club display VIP entries. So if you guys want to organise something, then please do so.

Here's a thought, how about a simple A4 sheet that you tape from the inside of the car (plan for rain) that has the club logo? Any master photoshoppers out there that can help out?

A reminder that VIP entry is via Gate 16 which is the "Spectator Entry" (ie the southern entry to Sydney Dragway) - gates open at 5:30pm;

General Admission entry is via Gate 7 which is the "Competitor Entry" (ie northern entry to Sydney Dragway) - gates open at 6:30pm.

    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
