r34unit
Is it possible to fit a cooling pro intercooler kit or a hdi intercooler kit in a r34 gtt without cutting a hole for the cold side ! I have a mate that when he had his skyline a few years ago, said he installed a hdi kit with out cutting any holes . Has any one else achieved this ? SiR_RB
Yes if it's a return style intercooler kit which uses the existing cooler pipes holes in the passenger guard Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/420171-true-or-false/#findComment-6756586 Share on other sites

GTSBoy
You can run the cold pipe under the front rail. Leaves it hanging down in the weeds a bit though. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/420171-true-or-false/#findComment-6756739 Share on other sites

GTSBoy
I have a return flow setup. Haven't seen an under rail install in 10 years. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/420171-true-or-false/#findComment-6756924 Share on other sites
scotty nm35
Either go with a return flow, or you will need to get creative. I have fitted many different cooler setups to Stagea's and Skylines, all of which are on here somewhere if you search. scotty nm35
Yours is on here Artz, and I have done a few coming up beside the radiator, it's quite tight through there though. (works better on the S14/15) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/420171-true-or-false/#findComment-6757652 Share on other sites

GTSBoy
Just open your bonnet and have a look at where the pipe could/would run if you were to do it. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/420171-true-or-false/#findComment-6765647 Share on other sites
r34unit
I see where it could go but don't know about the clearance between the ground and pipe Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/420171-true-or-false/#findComment-6765698 Share on other sites
GTSBoy
Clearance = measurement from ground to car - diameter of pipe. If you're happy with the number, run with it. eightsixboy
Just buy a return flow, why waste time and money on a kit that has to be modified, the cooling pro ones are cheap as chips. TTT
if you are keeping the standard intake plenum, and are willing to cut up the drivers side of engine bay, get pipework like this..(Gibson motorsport R31 GTSR) If you just want a hassle free FMIC that doesn't involve any cutting of anything, then get a return flow cooler kit from BLITZ. Looks like this.. If you want to spend less and still not cut any holes, then get a cooling pro/Just Jap/*insert other ebay kits here* I sold an ARC return flow kit and replaced it with an R32 GTR core and Gibson motorsport type pipes. scotty nm35
Not sure how much room yours has down beside the radiator, and if you want to compromise on pipe diameter, but this is what I do for the s14/s15. Trim the shroud and run stainless down beside the fan. I have also done a few custom installs, here is one with the aircon removed and the pipes through the side of the radiator. With a FFP this would be the shortest possible outcome. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/190267-summary-front-mount-intercooler-options-piping-layouts/page-3 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/420171-true-or-false/#findComment-6765905 Share on other sites
