Hi I'm in the middle of a turbo upgrade, wondering if ican get some opinions on how much hp and on how much boost I can run out of my rb25det.

Mods are as follows

Greddy front mount

Splitfire packs

Bosch id1000injectors

044 fuel pump

Greddy hi flow fuel rail

Greddy copy plenum

Tial 44mm wastegate

Gt3582r garrett .82 rear

3in exhaust

6 boost manifold

Don't want to know about the lag monstor it will be just hp and what boost I should be looking at running on sock internals,

Thanks Ryan

I'd say you would be safe to go for 20 pound and achieve 350 - 400 atw.

Somewhere in that region.

Much more then that will open ya self up to the rods possibly giving out.

Have seen some run more then that but no for too long with stock rods.

Yea I know what ya mean man.

There is a lot of people that do manage to push 450...

But just keep in mind it's a gamble no telling how long it will last.

Mine is a full forged engineered motor and I push just over 400kw all day long without breaking a sweat.

But yea cause of the work I know it will keep going.

In my opinion shoot for 400 then reassess with your tuner

Will prob be determined on the Dyno but usually 20 pound is the bench mark could be slightly above sometimes.

I wish you luck bro!!!

Do keep us updated on what you achieve.

What is your car set up for ?? I.e drift , strip?

Seeming that you haven't got a built motor you will prob have to go above 20 pound though. I've seen people pushing 23-25 pound again bear in mind more psi more stress on everything

  • 1 month later...

i think its better to be more conservative as ur engine internals are still stock. the harder u push it, the more u shorten the lifespan of the engine.

my personal opinion is...why not do up ur engine first (conrods, head studs, valve springs etc) and while u're at it... change the oil seals etc too. Once u've made ur engine relatively bulletproof, u can push it however hard u want and still have peace of mind. :)
