Help With Diy Project...

Hey guys

I have a r33 gtst I have put a r34 cooler in it and I have been trying to set up a water spray kit .

So far I have ran a new hose from the rear windscreen spray bottle motor to three water sprayer infront of the cooler.

This is the problem...

I ran the hose higher than the bottle to stop it from draining out but as you spray it once it creates a vacume affect and pulls all the water out of the bottle as anyone got any ideas to stop this problem I have....

You just need to put a one way valve in the washer hose line.

but that wouldn't stop it though wouldn't it as it continues to go the same way I thought where do you get that one way valve from ?

It doesn't just want to be a check valve. What it wants to be is a check valve with some pre-load. You install it in the direction you want it to flow, but it takes a little pressure to crack it open. That stops it dripping/draining. You can get them from agricultural sprayer suppliers.

In fact, this has all been thought of about, um, 12+ years ago. Look up the Autospeed articles written by Julian Edgar when he built a controller system for IC water sprays, and you will find specific instructions one what sort of gear to use. If you're interested, the controller that he helped develop is still the only one that actually makes sense and works properly, even after all these years and even with the speccy ECUs available these days.

where do I get a check valve with some pre loading ?

that's not something you would buy from a auto barn?

hey guys,

I went to a local sprayer supplier and asked the stuff for a 4 mm pre loading check valve they handed me one and I gave it a go. But it did work 100% I believe its not resistant enough as it drips a lot slower but still is dripping. not sure what else to do its very hard trying to track these valves down.

I was given a suggestion on putting in a solenoid but that's just becoming to complicated.
