hehe westy cops are as dumb as the residents :D after all they are the prized members their community has to offer.

And you'd have to be pretty dumb to drill extra holes in your rim etc... kudos to them for cracking down. If you know how to modify your car properly n not make it a PSSSST fullsick westie boost machine then I'm sure you won't get a ticket in the mail.

i think we should all plan a 10-15minute interval hit of the phone lines on the above number.. and concuss the fu(k out the cops.. but nowadays the vic cops not only make ther moola from speeding fines & prostituting themselves to bracks, their also making some "key-ash" on the side for themselves.. so maybe we need to have an SAU fund, where we could donate to their well being so if anyone displaying an SAU sticker gets off scott free :)

"blower valves" that allowed unburnt gases to escape without being recycled into the engine...

WTF does that have to do with the price of fish in China??!? I believe that, at last check, I exhale unburnt gases that are not recycled when I breathe out... admitedly if i was to go to the pits, my emissions would probably fail ahahahaha

hey dark, good to see ya back mate. There was a thread started not long ago about a trip to a hospital?? i didn't get details, anyways, hope all is well.

and that is great piece of comical writing! blower valves, 10sec 0 - 100, fires under bonnets, tacho's making cars go faster, drilling holes in rims?? wtf?? maybe they meant exhaust??

it's quite scary what comes out of the mouth of some police ppl.

If a Sen-Constable doesent know wtf he is talkin about with regard to cars, u cant expect the rest of the wankers under him to know any better.

Also sounds like the juro that wrote the article knew wha the pig was saying was BS and just kept all his quotes in there to make him look more stupid.

Someone write a letter to the editor pointing out all the BS the cop said about taking 18 seconds to get to 100 for a normal family car, and blower valves having nothing to do with exhaust gases.

Did it actually say "Waverton" or is that your typo dARK?

yep, thats what i thought... because whenever the sen-constable states a fact like that.. he leaves the quotes in, heh..

still no idea why someone would drill holes into a wheel.. makes no sense

dark u should write in to the editor staing u r 17 years old and still dont have a licence, yet you know more about these apparent souped up cars than a senior sargent that is trying to enfoce things he doesent even understand. Also u could add in the comment that the sargent might still think he is living in the 1950's when family cars take 18 seconds to get to 100km/h and not 2004.

Seriously - have any of you stopped for one second to think that maybe just maybe the REPORTER got the facts wrong - maybe the jotted notes were misread?

Cause I dont believe that there is a Sen Constable out there that thinks family cars take 18s to get to 100km/hr. It sounds to me more like dodgy reporting that article.

hang around long enough and suck enough dick in the police force and u become a senior constable. Doesnt meant u need to the actual facts about what u r tryng to enforce.

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
