I have taken my rb26 out of my car not because of any problems whith it but I wanted to detale the engine and engine bay. When I brought the car I was told it had bean rebilt recentley whith forged pistions ect. I nead to get boath hot and cold sides gaskits so i was wondering would it be a good idea to take the head off too and just check everything inside while the engine is out. Please excuse my bad spelling I allready know i carnt spell well. Thanks Mark

Check all hoses under the plenum and around the back. Replace if not nice and new looking. Check timing belt, same there. Look at front and rear seals. Fit uprated balancer if the mood (and available $$) strikes you - This is an opportunity to allow for a crank trigger if you feel the need may come at a later time.

You could look at how clean and well sealed the throttle shafts are. These suck badly when they leak (pun intended).
