Hi guys, have been thinking about parting with my car. Have been for a little while, but the thought of seeing it been taken away crushes me, hence why it's still sitting in the garage. The bottom line is i have 'rediscovered' game fishing, and can not afford to participate in motorsports and fish as well. The car has slowly been built up to a car that would be great fun in hill climbs and super sprints etc. it's pretty much imaculate paint and panel wise. It makes 320kw's on pump at 17psi. It has bilstein shocks, adjustable arms inc boost auto modded front LCA's. G4 356mm 8 pots up front, oem calipers on rear with aftermarket rotors etc. fully stripped/ painted out interior with sparco pro 2000 seats and matching harnesses & kidney pads. The wiring loom has been striped down, have done quite a bit of simplifying, the interior is very neat, high quality finish color matched to exterior. It has a 6 point bond cage. Doors have had intrusions removed, all screens lexan except for front screen. Car still retains a heater. Custom front splitter/bar, also has rear air guide from diff to rear bar. Origin Wing/japspeed adjustable wing. Wing & boot bracing. 18x9.5 + 25 all round. I could go on for ever and a day. It just needs a wheel alignment and a set of tires really. Anyway I knows it's a small market and it probably doesn't appeal to most. The fit and finish and quality will not disappoint.

It will be a sad day when she sells mate, hopefully someone on here buys it. Pity you're packing it in, was hoping to see you in NSW for World Time Attack this year..

If I hadn't just spent a fortune getting mine up and running I would be interested for sure. Should be lots of interest, very nicely built car, good luck with the sale :)

I live it and Breath it Justin, tassie is spoilt with great fishing. The boat is up for some maintenance if the bill isn't too high I might keep the datto ultimately I'd like a Evo 8 or 9, something totally street able but capable of 58's at basky. It's doable in nearly a stock car. Ray Tuttle has done it.(Rickards at the wheel) A red Evo with RPF01's would go down nicely but 4 door and 4 cylinder isn't quite as cool as the datto. Will see how it pans out. I think I'm just going to have to lower my expectations with the datto a little just to get it going sometime soon.

NO, DON"T DO IT :spank:

lol so far i've had a lot of that...... one good bit of news I've had since i have had my head elsewhere is the Ol cheap Achillies 123's are dirt cheep and fast? well fastish anyway 3rd place at the time attack just gone was on them and summers is talking them up big time

I didn't know nick sold them nowelly. But on further investigation they are starting to become more popular and they are getting a good rep, a lot saying up with RSR's for less money. Last time I checked R1Rs were way to many $$$$$ 350ish for a streety, no thanks.

Yeah, I can understand that... an absolute obsession.

I used to hang out with the marlin/dolphin/trophy sport fish guys in Mexico and around the Caribbean while I was working on Motor Yachts. Those guys are nuts about 2 things- shooting and big game fishing. It was amazing to see some of the tournaments... 40 or 50 x 40 foot+ sport fish boats heading out single file in the mornings, then they all head back in the same time. Some of the guys were crew, only there for reeling in duties??? if they win or place, the 'reeling' guy can get $50-60k just for an afternoons work on the rod (plus they all had really big right arms).

It's funny you say that, I've been looking at EVO's lately to replace the race wagon stagea one day.... mmmm black EVO 9, gold GTC face 2's, carbon lip and the right amount of low.

.... Don't sell the datsun, you know you love it.

Yeah game fishing in the states and in Mexico is insane, must do a trip someday, big yellowfin out of Mexico, or "cows" as they call them. Yeah for me a Red Evo with RPF01's, one day. As for the datto, I'm unlikely to sell it because it just won't bring the money I'd need to part with it. I also want to feel the modifications I made, I have made a lot since I last tracked it. I have copped a bit if stick for even mentioning it lol. But one day I will own a Evo, even if its as well as the datto

That's exactly what i said. Take it for a day out at basky and you will forget about selling it pretty quickly. On that note i am hopefully going to have my car tuned next month and will be organizing a quiet track day for a bit of a "run in/learn how to drive your car again" session if anyone is interested. ie. jack lol.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
