Hi iv recently bought a r32 and decided to throw on the r34 turbo on that i had sittin in the shed.

I spent a few hrs getting the old one out and swaped over the waste gate to the OP6 and got it in there after swearing and cursing for about 15min,

bolted it to the manifold and decided to start on the water and oil lines, i then realised the banjo bolts for the water lines are too small so i jumped on the net to find out the thread pitch for the banjo bolts and also found out that i need the oil line from an r33 for the oil restrictor.

what i want to know is if the restrictor is absolutly nessacary, also is the restrictor in the line or in the banjo?

From memory the R34 turbo has M18 threads for the water lines and the R32 water lines are M16.

The option that may cost a little more but is by far the least hassle is getting an M16 helicoil. You don't need the whole kit just the coil that goes in the thread because the tapping size for the M16 helcoil is M18 size anyway. Just use a set of long nose pliers to wind it in and break off the little tang.

You can pick them up from any good bolt shop or engineering supplier.

As for the oil line, look inside the banjo that bolts to the block. If it has only a very small hole in it then it would be ok, if its a big hole then you need an oil line from a later model motor.

r34 turbo water lines are m18x1.5

not sure the helicoil trick would work, probably only works with the coarse threads.

The R32 water line thread is also 1.5mm pitch. You can get helcoils for that thread diameter and pitch.

I forgot to mention the pitch earlier sorry.

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
