You cant use jumper leads or a jump pack to start a car through a dead/dying battery.

Spark, Fuel, Oxygen (not necesseraly in order)

When you go away you disconnect ignitor and AFM. It's not the first time you have done this.

This time you reconnected Ignitor and AFM (as per every other time). Today it started, idled and then stalled in gear. when you went to leave.

Was it difficult to start or sound unfamiliar ?

Leads me to believe Fuel or Spark. You say the tank is full.

Can you here the Fuel pump prime ? Is there fuel getting to the rail and reg ?

based on the response either the FP is dead or there is not enough power to the pump.

You have Fuel pumping through its veins - Y/N

(Some times you can hit the tank from underneath near your fuel pump and it will work again till next failure)

So moving onto spark

Check again your ignitor and AFM plugs. Dry, good connection ?

You car should still start with your AFM disconnected.

Ignitor - a possibility. But put that on hold for now.

Starter - possibility but these generally wear out (you would know it's coming)

Put a mates battery in - known working. Try turn it over.

Still not working ?

When was the last time you changed/checked your plugs. They can oil up and it's a bitch to start.

Oh and being a manual (no pun intended) this morning you could have tried jump starting down the road.

This can remove a few items off the check list (Alternator, Starter Motor, Battery) to get your car going.

Do anything else before you parked it ?

Edit: Both sides of the ignitor plugged in, is it earthed properly ?

I disconnect them every time I go away for a weekend. (Heads up to the robbers lol)

The car started the same as it has every day and didn't seem any different.

The only difference was a slightly different note to the idle, however it was sitting fine at 1000rpm

The car rolled as I clutched out and gave it a little revs, about half a meter and this is when it stalled.

I can hear the pump prime and stop like normal so that leads me to believe it would have fuel pressure?

I will have to check about if the fuel is pumping correctly.

Where should I be checking this? My thought is to disconnect the line just after the fuel filter.

The plugs were changed about 10,000km ago and I checked them about 1,000km ago when doing a compression test

(All looked fine bar 1 that had a little oil due to a leaking cam cover gasket, this has been ordered and will be replaced)

I cleaned all the oil from around the area to make sure it does not happen any time soon.

I was worried about attempting a hill start and not being able to get it home if this fails due to the hills in my area.

The car was running fine when I parked it on Friday night.

Edit: No immobiliser and plugs are both plugged in (Heads up to the robbers again lol, I have a shotgun)

dude i can come around with my battery and we can test it out or if that doesnt work atleast two minds will be better than one especially when your almost freaking out you might not be thinking straight could be a very small problem.

it could also be the issue you had with the sealant fr the TB somehow not opening up to let air in. Because you said it started then stalled could be the TB is stuck on the close position. Try starting with your foot down to the pedal a little just enough to open it.

Verms has said he might come around as well.

3 minds are better than one manual haha

Bryce you are more than welcome but don't you live on the North Side?

nah i live in the dirty south. Pretty sure i still remember where you live haha. Been stalking you lately

Not that this is your problem but just to put it out there... If your Battery is too flat, you cannot roll start it.

Check to make sure that little Indian Boy hasn't lost his ball inside your Enginebay somewhere.

Okay so the car is still sitting in the driveway and isn't starting.

Bryce came around with tools and Shane (Wilderboy)

-checked the return fuel line and it sprayed fuel everywhere so I checked fuel off the list.

-triple checked the plugs and they were all secure.

-pulled out the spark plugs and they all had fuel on them but no oil.

-plug the spark plugs into the coil packs and check if they had spark, all of them did.

-put it all back together and tried to start it.

No luck it just sits there turning over but not starting.

The ignitor pack on top of cam cover does have a crack through it but the spark plugs had spark..

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
