But isn't nats in Victoria this year

i don't know, i don't think its confirmed.

If its at PI ill be going.

But this year it was at Adelaide, and it was a good trip.

Last year it was nsw in my back door step, i didn't go, lol.

Year before it was in Vic.

If you want some good track day competition and some really good cars, head to nats. Otherwise, the wheel, youre reinventing it...

Im heading out with a mate and another two cars he know's from Redcliffe. Other cars are more than welcome.

Sounds like a great idea. Just to note im not into State Of Origin or League so wouldnt attend. however it does sound like a cool event for those that love Origin & racing

Has nothing to do with League really. The only thing that this has to do with League is the fact that we're using the term State of Origin.

It;s just QLD v NSW rivalry. A chance for us to beat them on our turf and then beat them again on their turf :D

Would rather have 3 track days here for the same cost as one here and then driving to nsw for an event. Least till I get more days under my belt plus travel to some other closer tracks like Morgan park

We will still have our track days here. This is just an extra for anyone interested. Realistically, we would only look at about 6-8 cars from each state.

We've got 4 sprints lined up for next year in QLD ;) If this was to go ahead, it would be an additional one.

We would work out pricing to include the two events, with accomodation near the track, etc etc and maybe the club could pitch in as these racers will be representing us. Don't know, Just spit balling ideas around here.

When I was down there, they seemed keen to do something like this. Just need to see if we feel the same and get it sorted.

12 to 16 cars for a track day... Ain't gunna happen in NSW unless your guys are prepared for $450 just to run Wakefield... If going to texi, they don't go for times anymore, they just do burnouts. Its why anyone quick either moved to Qld or stopped going to texi...

I've just sent Tats and Terry a PM regarding the logistics. I'm more interested in seeing if the members would be interested in doing something like this.

Let's face it, we've got NSW members who come up here and stir shit. It's only fair that we flog you guys on the track and prove a point :whistling:

I too qill be heading to downshift on sunday

Cool hope to catch up with ya there.

Does anyone know where to get a dash trim spray painted??

Have you considered water paint transfer (dipping) its pretty cool

quit the talkig, just turn up and try beat us :P

PS, as mentioned guys these days pretty much just do skids at texis though, so its really only a burnout comp :(

When it's for SAU, I'll pull strings to try and get there. :)

Also, if we were to have a State of Origin style comp against NSW who would be interested? We were thinking, get some of their guys to head up here for sprints and get some of our guys to head down there for a Texi. Make a long weekend of it and show them who can really drive. We need to get numbers sorted so that we can either move on this or cancel.

I like this ^ idea

    • There are black hose clamps as well if you care. Plazmaman for example sells some: https://plazmaman.com/product/black-hose-clamps-premium-quality-stainless-breeze/
    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
