Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

Recommended Posts

Morning had a big night on the car lastnight

Swapped all the belts over and ran all the wiring for sub and lights and stuff

Swapped over the back seats and front seats also fought with some plugs and found the new car has no 2nd o2 sensor so looks like more money on the exhaust

The second sensor in the exhaust is just a cat temperature warning sensor I think. Doesn't really do anything other than give you a dash light if it gets hot.

Pretty much, it lets you know when the cat has no internals left.

It has nothing to do with the ecu so don't worry about it Zac.

Can be an indicator of exhaust temp too high also (obviously). In which case, something isn't quite right.

Also, how goes the new zorst Scotty?

yeah, every vehicle has a unit that uses Iridium sat's to give a constant feed of speed (GPS measured), acceleration, braking etc. You key in with a unique tag each time you start the vehicle so they know who was driving. Main idea is to detect rollovers etc but in reality its mostly used for speeding tracking

    • No requirement for JDM vehicles,  which the 33 is, maroney label only needed in the US market for new cars I believe (Federal law stuff) Google knows all
    • Hopefully you can just unbolt them, thank them for their service, then bin them and not replace them Apparently the sensors like to set them off with only minor impacts at low speed It looks like they do a delete kit for some of these, but, it is costly
    • I hope it's actually possible. This is a write off in insurance world.
    • Yup. 2-way with shallow ramp angles. Still works.
    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
