Duncan
AFAIK it doesn't actually have to be stock; it just has to meet the rules for the club that issues the plate. Many clubs do require standard cars though eg the Z club. I believe the classic skyline club might have club/historic rego, give them a try first Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/432893-historic-rego/#findComment-7053840 Share on other sites

steve200b
I hear the nsw club rego is very restrictive compared to the Vic one. Mainly around where and when you can use it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/432893-historic-rego/#findComment-7058053 Share on other sites

ydr030
cheer for that, the only club I could find that does early datsuns and do track days was the zed car club in nsw, im trying to get intouch with the guy named craig? I only have a landline so ill keep looking . from what ive asked and found nsw is pretty shit compared to vic, but u can still drive it for repairs and charging u[p battery localy without having it loged, I live 5kms from work so I don't see why I cant drive it to work when I wanted for "bedding in brakes" or "repairs" itd be cool if the zed club had a sanctioned cruise everynow and again, and ran a few grip days id be all for it. ill keep going on with this its worth tyrying to get it and if its shit ill just have to get my blueslip licence and rego my car lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/432893-historic-rego/#findComment-7085461 Share on other sites
blind_elk
It's not supposed to be a means to get "cheap rego". If the car is your daily, then it really should have full rego / CTP. ydr030
I understand that I have a daily I just want to be able to drive it more than just a couple times a year Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/432893-historic-rego/#findComment-7086026 Share on other sites
blind_elk
Go to: aomc.asn.au There's a link to all the car clubs that participate in the scheme. (CSA is a member of AOMC, Z Club of Sydney/NSW doesn't appear to be a member). Zedhead70
Hi YDR030, Craig, Registrar from the Sydney Z car club here. This is from the RMS website "Historic vehicles manufactured 30 or more years ago are eligible for conditional registration if the operator belongs to a Roads and Maritime Services -recognised historic vehicle club, and the vehicle has not been altered except for certain safety features or period accessories. The vehicle's use of the road network is restricted to club events." Send me a PM and I'll give you my number if you want more info.
