andrew, does it sould like when you leave your lights on?

In my 32, there is a small chime thingy on the plastic cowl beneath the steering wheel... maybe check there and unplug any door bell-looking thingies...

Alternatively it is on the back of the instrument console... if you want I can have a look at it :)

Naa its not the same as leaving your lights on ( I don't think ) its much more annoying/different sound...

whats a cowl? :)

When you say on the back of the instrument console - is that the speedo/rpm cluster?

Cant belive that no one else with an auto hasn't cut the bloody thing :)

sorry mate didn't make myself clear -

it is most probably on the back of the plastic kick panel that goes under the steering wheel to the footwell - towards the pedals. I'm guessing (coz both my 33 and 32 were / are manual) that there is a box with a couple of wires going to it, and this may be the originator of your anger... that is definitely where the 'lights on' warning is on my 32 and I by memory, on my 33.

its probably a chime or something wired to your reverse lights so whenever your reverse lights come on the chime goes off. Trace the wires from the reverse lights in the boot and see if there's anything spliced into them.

hahah i had the same thing :) this is very easy to fix

no need to cut any wires at all!

very simple u'll hit yourself for not thinking of it.

1) put the car in reverse

2) make sure handbreaks on

3) put head down where pedals are

4) seek and destory little black box that beeps

5) once found box - pull out the wire clip (very easy to find. look about the break pedal where all the million wires n things are

easy as that

i got dat many damn wires n shit under there cos my alarm system.. could sum1 please send me pic of wat wire 2 reomve from which box.. even colour of wire. i think i was looking at right one...cheers

i cant stand it any more!im going in after it tomorrow and ill post back with results.there should only be one trigger wire in there for the reversing part of it.there is another beeper in my 33 that does the headlights on beep, there is a wire on the ECU plug that you can cut that will stop the beep wen the keys in the ignition and the doors open.

Jack

well seems no one else will do it i did. heres what you need to do to remove the reversing beep and the reversing beep only.

To stat off with sick your head under the steering collum, the box you are looking for sits right up on top of the steering collum on the right hand side (above your right hand leg when your sitting in the car).

The box your looking for looks like this

unplug the plug from the box and pull away some of the insulation tape, proceed to cut the RED wire only, this is the trigger wire for the reversing beep.tape the live end up and plug it back into the box and your all done.

Instead of cutting the wire, just use a small flat head screw driver and push it in the back of the plug and bend the little barb holding the connector in remove the entire wire and metal tounge (or female socket, which ever it may be), so if you did want to sell your car or want it back in for some reason, you can just push the metal connector back into the plug.

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
