hi guys

i am form canberra i have a rb25det r33 stock block and head running high mount with all bolt on mods running Garret 35/40.. using a haltech platinum pro

my last tune was a safe tune.. my tuner said it was really easy tune and the car basically ran perfectly

pulled 315kw on 20psi on E85 about 490nm

he said it was a very safe tune..

but i have seen alot of guys with simlar set ups and/ or smaller turbos and have better results with less boost or same boost with more power.. the main thing i have noticed is the torque seemed really low..

would this result be coz he made the tune safe? or quality of tuner? tuner has a good reputation here.

i guess i am looking for a tuner - car is only used for drift days,

i am after better low end and for the turbo to come on better (i no it should be a bit laggy but feels like to much) and over all strength through out the rev range. feel like it could have some more grunt over all -

There are usually a few great recommendations, but everyone will have different opinions - some good, some bad - so the final decision is up to you.

Have a look at this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/228238-read-this-whos-the-best-tunerworkshopresprayerdetaileretc/

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
