Nice purchase and some damn nice upgrades there

Yeh, HDI Intercooler Kit is soon going to be on my list too!!

Cheers

HDI kit was a snack to install

Hopefully they start selling it with a 10" replacement fan as part of the kit...

Also picked up a turbosmart Kompact recirc bov ,as i suspected the factory one was bleeding (leaking) of boost. now holds but at the cost of noisy flutter.

Haha yeah I used the same BOV made a good performance difference but it does sounds like I have trapped a large pigeon under the hood

Yeh, Have the same problem with my kompact too.. they just don't seem to want to do anything about replacing the spring. Last time I spoke with them they wanted me to send them videos of the noisy flutter at low boost, and it shutting off at high boost so their engineers can 'analyze' and maybe send me out a softer spring!!

It can be managed to a degree by driving in tiptronic.. Still, it get's all the boy racers copping a sqizz :rofl2:

It doesnt suit the vehicles looks.

Intersested to see if GFB have an alternative even a late model GTR version would most likely remedy the problem...

Intrested to hear other owners who have found a better alternative...

I've got a dual port venting to atmosphere.......... love the flutter at low boost and sounds like a bucket of water being thrown at a wall over 7psi HAHA

good thing is though u can chage the spring tention by winding it down but mines on the softest setting......

Yeah I got the GFB Respons, you can adjust it to recirc or atmo and anywhere in between which is good, I set mine to recirc at moment but muck around with it every now and again, would be good with aftermarket ecu so you could tune for atmo better.

But yeah flutter is still pretty strong, if you adjust the spring really soft it helps reduce flutter but feels like it doesn't go quite as good, and it can make the car hesitate a little on and off light throttle, again that could be tuned out with an emanage I reckon.

I can only guess my standard unit was as loose as - the fact it had zero noise at all.

In regards to the emanage ive had a tuff time locating an expert on wiring it in in Adelaide.

The Guru appears to be in Vic. Have considered the drive , same time address the exhaust with the Fabrication Expert. If there is Adelaide option be interest to speak about the installs

Yeah I know mate I was Under the assumption all would know who I was refering to , aswell hoping someone closer to my postcode handy with a bunch of wires & soldiering iron and a finish to closely resemble your craftsmanship.

The trip to Vic is proving a difficult assignment...

If only i had to worry bout myself.

Btw hows the progress going are we nearing a start mate?

Honestly....

Would you touch the GT3082 ive on hand install?

Highmount in front of airbox?

Decided that the time, effort $$$ invested to just have a " proven results highflow" in place and on road is going to be not a great deal less Plus the heading of this blog explains everything...

Emanage is fairly easy to wire in as long as you have a computer pinout diagram , have always done my own computer wiring, emanage , microtec ect . There is also Nathan the auto electrician kicking around adelaide can't remember his business name but I can give you his number , a fair few of the performance workshops use him, top bloke !

I've still got a emanage ultimate kicking round somewhere I thought about putting it on the m35 but not sure i can really be stuffed with too many performance mods on it . Already trying to make 1 house brick something like quick is annoying enough lol

Certainly not attempting any records upgrading and modifying ones car is a personal taste.

For me its the perfect ride to have performance and luxury. Velvet sledge hammer.

Thanks I certainly would appreciate the Auto Sparkys number.

Finally nobody I know ever left a Turbo car stock ...

    • GTSboy, thank you again. i’ve been reading all the other SAU RB25 vacuum line threads and you have the utmost patience for people asking “where do my vacuum lines go”. it’s appreciated. i did also enlist a few other RB guys local to me.  i would like to run 5 to 4. turbo pressure side to wastegate actuator. i would like to run 3 to 1. power steering air valve line to intercooler outlet. (this is how it was previously). i was told 2 is the bleed port for the boost solenoid - which i’m not running - so should be capped.   anyone see any problems with that?
    • So yes. All of them. Something like 98% of all fuel in the USA has 10% ethanol: https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/ethanol-fuel-basics It's labelled as like, AKI, 87, 91, 93 with an E10 or E5 or E15 label on the pump. At a certain point, it's not just "E10" instead of 91. It is 91, 95, 98, and all of them have 10% Ethanol in them. You can also get E85 and E30 which is why you do see some people rolling around with E30 tunes in them.
    • Thanks for the response. This is an 04 EP3 Type R. JDM spec. Fairly certain they're just basic BC racing coils. I do plan to keep as the ride quality on stock I've been told is pretty meh given Sydney roads. If I were to go down that avenue, does NSW require them to be a certain spec (close to original) etc?
    • Should have asked what is the car?
    • I've had two super conflicting experiences with blue slips. My 30 year old E39 waltzed through with no issues but my brother in law was knocked back on 12 y/o 3 series due to wiper blades and some cracking in a control arm bush.  What kind of coil overs? Do you want to keep them after?  If it was me I'd get some dirt cheap shocks and springs from eBay or scumtree. Not ideal but will get you over the line and might even be less than $1k.
