Car found last week, finally got a chance to look at. Pillar clusters, rims, spoiler, front grill, number plates and even the SAU stickers were taken. Generic shit put on.

The prick who took it had the decency to leave a Van Halen cd in the cd player so thanks f**kwit. Hoping the engine isn't screwed but considering my rear bumper is now full of carbon shit, I won't hold my breath.

Pictures speak for themselves:

+1, and if its sitting in the back of a factory somewhere and someone spots it as they're passing through and remembers the car from facebook / forums... A complete car which doesn't match the stolen car description won't raise eyebrows, but a half stripped car with the distinguishing features missing does

Or...burn the thing / drive into lake and not worry about turning it back to stock?

Cause the whole effort to return to stock obviously worked in keeping it from being found!

Wtf @ putting stock parts back on?

wow.. thats strange!

does this mean the person who stole it most likely owns a white r33 gtst also?

seen any snooping around?

To update the post, car was found around 4am near the CBD idling in the back streets when found by police.

After giving the car a once over, the prick who took it obviously thought he'd use it for a work car after he sold all the nicer bits. I found so much shit in the boot and back seat (work tools, paint, spare clothes - even a fkn porno). Who the hell steals a car and decides, "yep I'll keep this for myself" and drives it like he owns it?!?! Explains why the stock bits went on.

Car hasn't got any major damage on the body (except for missing bits) comp is fine across all cylinders but the turbo has shat itself, Unfortunately I think they'll write it off . :(

U reckon they'd write it off based on that? If it's just the turbo and some trim bits gone, I would think at worst maybe 3-4k of repair work necessary.

Started motor also gone, 18" wheels + rubber = $2k so around $6k as quoted by the inspection center.

  • 5 weeks later...

It pisses me off the amount of low life scum there is around knocking off vehicles I had a VL caiais stolen from crown about 10 years ago, luckly for me it was found the following day in cranbourne with only the sub and amp taken from it,

I was previously in the 4WD scene and the amount of Nissan Patrols that are getting knocked off in melb is unreal, every week one goes missing, if some prick ever tried to come to my place and knock off my pride and joy they would want to be quicker than a speeding bullet from a 30-06 rifle

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
