Interesting you say that. I am now reading on forums etc that Rosberg turned up his engine in Bahrain and in Spain Hamiltion turned it up to keep him behind. Everything I have read from Lower and Toto suggests that it was only Hamilton that played with engine spec against teams instructions. In Bahrain Rosberg was able to do so as it was his strategy to do it at that part of the race...so wasnt disobeying the pit wall in doing so. Seems Lewis saying Noco did the same thing in Bahrain is what people are remembering....and that is a statement out of context

Does anyone have a link that confirms Nico disobeyed the pit wall in Bahrain?

However, Wolff revealed that the tension dates back to the epic battle between the two in Bahrain where Rosberg was using engine modes that Hamilton was not and then Hamilton did the same when the pair were racing in Spain in two weeks ago. Wolff played down the significance of the two incidents, but said it had added to the tension in Monaco and would not be allowed in the future.

"In the last couple of races we had some little fouls left and right, and in the team we made sure this is not happening again," Wolff said. "The most obvious bit is you can play around with the engine modes, so this is not happening ever again.

Cheers, that suggests that Rosberg may have disobeyed the pit wall. Other quotes suggested that Rosberg was allowed to be in that engine mode and Hamo didnt understand why Rosberg was allowed to use a different setting...seemingly associated with Rosberg running the more conservative tune when on the harder tyre.

I recall thinking that was odd as if my memory serves me right comign down to the last laps in Bahrain Rosberg had used more fuel so didnt really support he had been in a more conservative engine setting mid race

yeah ive heard different things too, i think in the f1 telecast they talked about the engine mode being one that they are never to use.... but who knows....

'murica....

Yeah certainly sounded a little but suss. Every other time they'd choose to come out last so that they can shut the car down early if they aren't going to be beaten so as to save the tyres, etc.

It's going to be an interesting run into turn one. I think that if homo can get in front into turn one he will lead from start to finish. I don't think britney has the overall pace that homo does, he just managed to turn it on for 1 lap

yeah definately he was so close with a couple of mistakes, so yeah rosberg's gonna have to pull something out of his arse....

hamo has said going out last was prob not a good idea getting caught up in traffic....

maldanado reprimand for not putting his steering wheel on...

hopefully williams can have a good race!

Disappointing for Williams. I think Perez was at fault but Massa showed today that he is past his best and really should have got the job done as soon as he arrived on the bumper of Vettel. Cant help but wonder the 2012 Williams would have had if they kept Rubens and this year if they had someone like Romain

Funny to see Button in 4th...the guy is quick for one stint in 6

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
