Ok peeps here goes, as has been discussed in a previous topic and by a few pm's I have decided to get this thread going.

As we all want to keep our beloved cars safe and secure and the rise of skylines being stolen or at least attempted (my own just before Christmas was nearly taken!) we have an opportunity to bring Chris down to melbourne to help us out with his expertise!

Forum members that are interested you can either reply to this thread or send myself a pm.

Installs will be happening in the S.E suburbs.

The following are the details of the alarm that will be getting installed.

Alarm Details:

Auto watch 446p

-glass break/ shock and battery back up siren

-install is stealth and has a few hidden oem relays that will drop multple circuits in the car

-included is a hidden activation switch. (This means that if the keys are snatched the car still will not move)

-turbo timer is included (if not needed/wanted it's a flick of a switch by installer)

-remote boot release is optional extra

*Google the alarm and you will find a lot of detailed information and it is a highly rated and adr approved alarm.

i'm keen, would I be able to use factory central lock remote for this alarm?

don't really like to carry many keys

That's a question for Chris to answer, anyone with questions please be sure to list what vehicle you have as well.

i.e I have an R33 S2 four door, auto.

If someone is asking about a Viper I'd say its remote start and paging

Also because I like the remotes on them. I've already had one car stolen only 2 years ago, so I like the idea of paging.

Edit: I should clarify though, I would settle for that model alarm that you posted as well, just wondering if we had option of other alarms but it may make it harder to work out timelines for when hes in Melbourne.

Fair enough.

I like the Viper too

GPS tracking would be more handy than just a alarm with a radio transmitter from the 80's.

Your best bet would be a combination of devices. I'm pretty sure the Viper can be paired with a good ADR immobiliser

Pointless really. Smart start was an add on. Not the most ideal solution to keeping specialty insurance happy.

The auto watch does.

hm. group buy price if i am in. unfortunately, did not drive to brisbane, so can only wait for you to come by.

does it matter if i intend to do a manual conversion some time later after this alarm is installed?

here is an interesting post i found on another forum i was one on in regards to car security at home lol

Most tools can be found lieing around at home or ur local Hardware and Sports store.
When a would be potential theif approaches ur pride and joy there are many precautions u need to take into consideation such as , 1)is he armed and dangerous, 2) is he actually trying to brake into your car, 3)how much bigger is he than you, and finally is he a complete D I C K H E A D trying to pince ur pride and joy.
As most of us sleep with 1 eye open trying to eyeball these morons the second we hear a sound we r usually up and running outside like a pack of idiots trying to scare off these would theives rite. well this is were we need to kick it back a gear!! as soon as u hear a sound u need to be close to a window and just check out the sitch. once u have identified that this is the real deal immediatly proced to DEFCON 5. hang there and wait as soon he has his grubby paw inside the car proceed to make ur way towards the wank. try and be as quiet as possible. This is were the toys come into play. Usualy i keep either a nice Alluminuim Adult sized Basebll bat with extra rubber gripping just to give me the extra comfort on my hands wen i go full throttle on sum 1s face, this can be found at either Kmart or Rebel and usually retail anywere from 39.95 to about 45.95, or u could go for the cheaper option of going to ur local hardware store and purchasing 1m length of 2x2. this can be discuised as anything which is y i love this toy. u dnt need to be the sharpest tool in the shed, all u gota do is throw this lil dooby on a lathe and decorate it into anything u really want, so u can make ur self a nice fancy handle and maybe even spike the top of it by hammering some nails into it. this is a very effective "finishing off" tool as this usually leaves a nice Hammered metal finish on the potentials face . these items are good to have either 1 in ur room and 1 at ur front door or even if possible have 1 stashed ouside in the garden close to the car. It is now very crusial that u move very quickly but in stealth mode make no sound at all, u dnt wana be seen or heard. As u approch this scum make sure u are deadly quiet wen u think ur ready to hit make a sound so he hears u and turns around. as he turns around u give him a nice welcoming present by spliting half his face open and splatering his nice pearly whites all over ur windows and interier. this should make stars appear infront of him, if it doesnt its time for plan B.
Drag his ass over to a guter as i garuntee u he wont really wana move or talk after a hard blow to the head. postion his mouth onto a gutter with his remaing teeth cleanched onto the gutter.Proceed To AMERICAN X him by jumpin on the back of his head and maybe even potentialy killing him. the way i see it id rather do the time for potentialy cleaning more scum off he street. A WARNING TO ALL THEIVES OUT THERE IF U THINK THIS IS A JOKE THINK AGAIN, COME AND TRY UR LUCK WITH ME!!!!

ATTN NO RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE TAKEN FOR ANY INJUSTICE CAUSED TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING IN RELATION TO MY INFO , HOW EVER A SLAB WILL BE PAID OUT IF ANY OF THIS INFO DOES HELP AND THERE IS PHOTO EVIDENCE TO PROVE

    • Assuming the current ECU is stock, it might be worth getting hold of a nissan data scan cable. It could be as simple as voltage at the ECU
    • You need to test for spark when it matters - ie cranking. Kill the fuel supply, pull a plug and earth it, set up a camera and go crank. The spark needs to be consistent, every other turn of the engine. Not some sputtering of occasional spark. The reason I say this is because spinning the CAS in the air is not the same as spinning it installed, and if there is a bearing problem in it, the disk might work differently in the air than in the engine. You won't want to try to set the timing unless you know the spark is happening right.  Also, reconsider running the R35 coils against the stock ECU. They like a different amount of dwell cf the originals. It's not massive, you can actually run them, but it is better if you can adjust the dwell (which you can with Nistune in the stocker, or with an aftermarket ECU). Besides any of that - when you had the multimeter out, have you got power where it needs to be, earth where it needs to be (and when, in the case of igniter triggers), etc?
    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below
