Hypergear Ss2 Turbo

Recommended Posts

For sale is my Hypergear Ss2 turbo that is now off the car. Internal gate

It is approximately a 3076 equivalent.

Turbo has had not much time on the car.

Was purchased late 2012, but then car was off the road for a year. Turbo was opened and rechecked by Stao last year. And the turbo has done 1 track day and a few thousand KM's.

Turbo made 280rwkws. (20psi bleeding down to ~16psi) Turbo housing has been ceramic coated by HPC in their top TC1 coating.

Turbo cost $1,450 new + $220 + postage for the ceramic coating

$1,100 ono. Pickup from SE Melbourne

Reason for sale: Have upgraded to a bigger turbo.

Turbo is in tip top condition and can be inspected

In case someone is looking at this but has yet to see the HG thread, link is here - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/261613-hypergear-hiflow-service-continued/

The SS2 is probably the perfect turbo for a daily driven RB25. Tony's price is a ripper, too, when you consider it's almost new and has been coated.

Power was on pump 98

Actuator was i think 18psi one? Ill have to check with Stao, but i have both a 16psi and a higher psi one.

You can have both actuators in the sale

Bleed off is just due to turbo, but im sure if you send this turbo to Stao he can update it so it holds boost till redline. He offered to this for me for a small fee.

Guys that have held boost have made about 300rwkw on 18psi off the top of my head

How much of a "small" fee if you can remember?

I've just asked Stao. Will cost $250.

You'd probably only go this route on a built engine imo. Don't think you would want to run anymore than 280rwkw or 18psi on a standard engine on pump 98.

Ok last chance $950 pickup otherwise ill be sending it interstate most likely

    • Anyone know anything about a r34 350z lsd diff conversion?.  I have 350z lsd conversion layin around and thought about chucking it in my r34 I got all the offset adapters but am having trouble figuring out on how to get a speedo reading. Any help would be appreciated thanks   (I have both speedo sensors from r34 and 350z)

    • Hmmm, seems like these things are car of the week....we bought a q50 Red Sport today too (ironically, the one I said a few posts above is probably dodgy  ) Goes good for a stocker. Brakes and tyres need doing all round and it is way overdue for an oil change, but it seems good otherwise. It was weird to be able to see (and even drive!) a car before I bought it, most stuff I get 2 or 3 grainy pics and an auction sheet I can't read, followed by a 4 month wait to see what I ended up with
    • I was able to improve to a 3:46.7 which was .5 slower than silver. I just couldn't do any better but then I was able to just link the sections so nicely and got a 3:44.6. stoked with that.  AMG around Barcelona looks good. I'll save that for the weekend.
    • hey GTSboy thanks for the quick reply. im on stock ECU  Surprisngly enough i unplug everything and replug everything, readings are still off but the car drove...ok haha So far this is what i have done. - Replaced ECU (still 1.5v) - Replaced Boost sensor (still 1.5v) Now the next thing i tried is to unplug the TPS and only plug in the Boost sensor to see if it reads 5v. No it still only read 1.5v.  Its a new boost sensor and i know i have 5v if i dont plug the sensor back in, so that means the power wire is good. So now im thinking that it might be a bad ground on the boost sensor plug.  on the FSM says the ground to the boost sensor is  a sensor ground, can i add a ground wire from the boost sensor ground wire to the the engine itself to ground it? or chassis?
