yes he means the gtst's and roy I think your right advan made comment to some one about this not 100 percent sure you would need to reset the injector size etc byut I'm pretty sure it would work the other way would be to put an r32 ecu in an r33 in theory it should start even if it is running really rich as the injecotrs are bigger.

I would borrow an r33 stock ecu if that works then you know your on a winner

meggala

and yes please post on here if its true

Sorry if the original question wasnt too clear, i meant an R33 GTST ECU and R32 GTST ECU.

So if i get me a Power FC Pro for an R33 GTST ECU for my R32 GTST running the RB20, then at worse...it will plug into the original harness but wont have buckleys of running the car as it the std map will be for bigger injectors etc etc....(?)

I cant really check my car with an R33 ECU at the moment, as even the std edu is having trouble running the engine :D

...oh well only one way to find out.

Do the pins match up with this:

Ecu pinout: rb20det eccs control unit pin layout.

1 Ign signal (power transistor) Cyl #1

2 Ign signal (power transistor) Cyl #5

3 Ign signal (power transistor) Cyl #3

108 Injector ground

109 Injector power supply

110 Injector #5

112 Injector #4

114 Injector #6

115 exhaust gas sensor heater ground

116 injector ground

Went through and compared the two pi-out diagrams, the only differance I can see that would be critical is pin 112 on R32 is inj. #4, on R33 is inj. #6 and pin 114 on R32 is inj. #6 ans on R33 is inj. #4

Unless this was a typo if course.......???

Pin 104 on R32 is for Fuel Pump voltage - on the R33 diagram it has a ?

Pin 54 on R32 is Throttle valve switch - on R33 is not connected

56 amd 57 are a bit of a question mark, as its not sure what it is on R33?

So would this in theroy, work if programmed to suit differant injectors?

Chris32, that was the plan as a friend was in my ear to get a Power Fc Pro, which isnt available for the R32, hence was goign to try and get the R33 one to work. But its too late now i have already paid for the R32 RB20DET PFc, as i couldnt wait any longer to get my car running properly.

I think if you can get your hands on the first 6 inches of wiring harness from a wrecked R33 GTST, and then the plug of a throw away RB20 ECU, im sure you would be able to make the pin changes in the adaptor loom to make the R33 Pfc work....

There you go , there are the seeds of a good idea.... may give it a go myslef if i find i really need the extra features of the Pro, and you can get an R33 Pfc with handset for the price of just the RB20 Pfc

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
