Hi guys,

I removed my front upper control arms but not 100% certain how they sit back in the car...if I look at fitting the left arm first, I think the cotter pin sits on the inside of the strut with the small nut facing down, is this correct?

Also, do I fit them as pictured where the pin mounts are offset or do I spin the unit on its thread axis 180 degrees so that the pin mounts are aligned to the each on the face side?

I think you will find comparing them against the stock arms most instructive. The alignment (or offset) needs to look the same. Per this http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a55/tamiya_S2000/1992%20Skyline%20GTS-t/d5da7a6a.jpg

As to which end goes inwards...I dunno. I can't remember if the lengths of the inner bush and outer bush are the same, which would be one key way to determine which end is which. The other way to look at it is.....the cotter isn't used to lock them up for length is it? In which case, it simply might not matter where it goes. Provided you can unlock the nuts and spin the centre, it should work equally well either way - also provided the ends are parallel and the offsets are equal (which I think they probably are - it's been a while since I've handled an R32 upper.). If you need to access the cotter, put it where it is easiest to get to.

Both the bolts for the front uca are different diameters. Larger diameter bolt is the inner. Inner bushes are slightly longer too. That should tell you what way they fit.

Thanks for the info guys, they are the first version arms. Do they bend on the GTR as well? This is obviously concerning...

Here comes the something I cannot explain. I have reinstalled the factory upper arms which measure approx 175mm centre to centre from the pivot holes (versus the uas arms which measure approx 155mm centre to centre) yet with the factory arms camber is huge as the top of the rims sit about 10mm furtherinside the guard!?

Here's mine. Its about 165mm center to center, which was for 3deg neg camber at about 635 ride height (too low, one of the reasons its apart atm)

Oh and as the series 1 arms are clearly not "fit for purpose" Pelican should swap you to series 2 for no cost!

Re: the length - urrr.... remeasure?

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
