Which Spec/cpu Is Better

I know it seems obvious but I've always bought intel

just a run of the mill laptop used for basic applications, word, excel, net browsing - both the same price both the same body....these are the differences.

• Intel® Core™ i5-3210M (2C, 2.50GHz, Turbo Boost to 3.10GHz)
• 6GB DDR3 RAM
• 500GB SATA HDD

OR

• AMD® APU A8-4500M (4C, 1.90GHz, Turbo Core 2.80GHz)
• 8GB DDR3 RAM
• 750GB SATA HDD

You won't notice a performance difference between them if all you're doing is basic web and WP stuff.

If a choice had to be made, Intel. Better CPUs. You don't need the extra cores which is the only possible advantage the AMD may have.

that's what I was thinking also - it's also got a higher clock speed...so the apps that are running will have more each.

AMD has better GPU.

I'd get the AMD since that i5 is old.

There's been talk lately that more games will begin to better utilise the additional cores due to the new consoles now having 8 cores.

Anyway, food for thought.

Holds the zoom function at 125%, chrome/firefox seem to reset back to default 100% everytime a new tab is opened.

I think you can set default zoom in Chrome. Not sure on Firefox, but there's probably an extension for that.
