my suggestion - if you can't win, at least do something spectacular so you get your head on telly

I had my first track day ever in Feb this year. I'm not going to win it! LOL

But if nothing else my car is damn sexy (Bayside Blue R34 GTR with Bronze LMGT4's) so that should be enough to get on TV if nothing esle. But the plan for this year is to mostly have some fun and learn what its all about cause the car is still pretty stock and Im still a novice. Next year the car will (hopefully) be a beast and I'll take it a bit more seriously.

But this time around I'll definitely be having some fun so at times will try and be entertaining! haha. I have to so that I can try and increase the number of SAU Vic entries for future events.

yeah we went from 3 forum members running last year to 6 this year...they need a bit of encouragement ;)

good luck with it, its plenty of fun, and there was only a couple of tracks in nsw where the car was in any danger, not sure what its like down there....

It's Official..

DVD it is...

I managed to get a really good quote for dubbing that made it worthwhile going for the DVD over the VHS.

I dropped them off this arvo for dubbing and I should be picking up the copies at the end of this week. - I have just finished the cover for the DVD case so all going well, you should have them in the next week or so....

I can't wait until Melbourne now...

I even get my own press car to zip around in and get exposure for... :D

for those of you who subscribe to MOTOR mag, there's a dutton article in there too  I believe I see a 350Z convertible with HGE plates in there too ;) ;)

    • Yes. It's not aesthetically pleasing. And most turbos sold these days are sold for aesthetic purposes (Insta likes/fame, etc). Also its cheaper to not machine it. The hot side is the pipe with hot air in it from the turbo to the intercooler. The cold side is the pipe with cooled air in it from the IC to the engine. Anywhere after the turbo will do. Certainly before the IC is better than the IC. But there is no massive imperative to get it from the turbo scroll itself, or from no more than an inch downstream. Those are nonsense thoughts. The only thing we want is a pretty honest measurement of the pressure at the turbo outlet, and anywhere from the compressor housing itself to the inlet of the IC will read approximately the same thing. Yeah, I disagree with Tao on that one. It's fine for an engine that only runs on the dyno at full throttle (or, equivalently, a drag car that only really runs at full throttle also). But some turbos that are particularly sensitive to overspeed (ie EFRs) would quite possibly get into a lot of trouble if run that way.
    • The sarcasm should have been easily visible. It was dripping off it.
    • Whether the brakes will clear the back of the spokes comes down to the specific wheel, as well as its dimensions (ie 18x8 or whatever else size). You can have 2 different wheels of the same size and one will clear and on the other the spoke design will not clear. So your question "Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"?" cannot be answered in a meaningful way. You need that person to be using the same wheel you want to use.
    • I didn't even bother watching the video.
