Well, apparently R33 stuff fits straight in. IT DOESN'T. The springs in the rear are wider on the R33, so won't fit back over the stock struts and under the strut cap. I'm unsure whether you can change to the R33 struts as well, which of course would fix this problem, but the rear springs from an R33 are not the same as those in the C34 Stagea. Fronts are not a problem though

Gary bought Kings Springs, straight from Kings I believe.

Sounds like R34 springs, they are smaller diameter coils than R33. I am not going to change the springs on ours, unless I find them too soft. I will simply lower it with the circlip height on the Konis. The question now is R33 or R34 shocks?

Stagea insured for $20K with NRMA was $2.4K, for me.  I have 4 cars insured with them, all on 65% NCB, house and contents policies, 4 geenslip policies etc.  Guess who is not going to get my Stagea insurance?

Thanks for the tips guys, I emailed off a quote request to Shannons yesterday.  Just Cars will get a call today.

Have you suggested to them that you will be taking all your insurance to whoever insures the Stagea for the most reasonable cost?? :D

2.4k @ $20k is horrid..i was quoted $2400 @ 50k for 260rs at famous 60% no one under 30driver .sat track alarm ...i thought this was two much ...but the good old NRMA can make anything look a bargain

My Stagea is currently on a ship from Japan.

I can't wait as I've been in little N/A silvia for way too long.

I already have 18" white Nismio rims to put on it + BOV and Striaght pipe exhaust. Does anyone knoe if R-34 Nismo suspension will fit?

Have been told many conflicting stories about this.

Mine is getting a AUtech Kit from AJM motorsport and is getting resprayed black. Also is leather with twin sunroofs.

And big sound system soon to follow.

for the suspension, front is exactly the same as 33 gtst but the rears are a different story.  I sourced my new suspension of an Autech RS 260.... get it back tomorrow will let you know how it handles..

Cheers

Gary

Hi Gary, what is the rear like, R32 GTR I heard was pretty close? Did you keep your standard shocks?

GTR is all different the hub is different therefore the bottom of the shock is different. You can change hub carriers and then it should fit. The easiest way is to modify the top hat of the shock.. I had Kings springs make the rear springs but the front are just lowered, heavy duty 33 gtst off the shelf items. Standard shocks are gone, replaced with Autech

Cheers

Gary

P.S Don't try the manual conversion yourself.......What a nightmare!!!

Hey all,

I have recently purchased a RS4 due to baby one the way. Sold my heavily modded 32 gts4 but am very happy with the new toy. Have got Tein S springs to drop her a little, gtr fmic, exhaust, boost guage timer etc etc. Might have a go at the group buy for the stainless mainfold too. Tein springs are ex Japan only (correct type for 4wd staj's), if any one is interested I can organise some more, $350 inc gst + ship. Will post photos when car is done. Nailed a VY SS commode off the line up to 100kph, mate did he have the shits. hahahahah.

Cheers,

Ken

Wife got a 33 turbo 4 door. (no point is going backwards is there)

Had my stagea since Feb

Bought it fully complied, I was wondering about the NEO version, but went

for the 1997 RS4. Looks great, dual sunroofs/blue.

Just cars gave me a $990 per annum deal, but I have got

a good record (rating, no accident claims for years and years etc, and over 40)

My insurance is through Shannons. I pay $550 per year full comp. Insured for $22k. I think i got a good deal due to my last car r32 gtst4 and my gtr race car was insured with them. Got my wifes 33 turbo 4 door insured for $530 per year. Give them a call.

Hey Gary,

You wouldn't happen to know anyone else who has any autech suspension and what price i'd be looking at?

How much did king springs charge you for that setup. How much did it lower the car?

I wish the manual conversion was easier! That will be the only thing i'll miss about my lil' silvia...

Can't wait til mine is done!!! Arrives on the 30th but straight to compliance GRRRR. And then the transformation begins from family wagon to V8 EATER.

Shoot that must be a "Darwin" price, "Sydney" price is double that. I will give them a call back and ask whether that's the case.

Yep, it was a "Darwin" price, less accidents and lots less chance of getting it stolen, so cheaper insurance. So far Shannons wins at $1.2K with $400 excess, Just Car second at $1.3K with $1.2K excess, NRMA last at $2.4K. :P

"Darwin price" - hahahahahha.

Got to be kidding. Open speed limit, no local approved panel beating wshops for imports. Guys, cars cost a heap to insure up here. The major problem is getting a company to insure the imports in the first place. I have got a good deal through previous business done with Shannons, thats it.

Masa kit Primo? Looks like a winner.

    • Yeah, I don't believe the M35 uses a deadhead system.
    • Have you done your thinking backwards? 3 bar, 43.5 psi pressure drop being the presumed specification for an injector, means you need 3 bar upstream when they are firing into atmospheric pressure, and more upstream pressure than that when on boost (you add your boost to your rail pressure to maintain 3 bar across the injector) and you need..... less pressure upstream when you have vacuum in the manifold. So, presuming that you're idling at -10 psi, then you only need ~23 psi in the rail. I realise that I did not need to say all of that to you specifically Matt, once you'd realised your mistake. It's mostly there for complete clarity for others.
    • Have you reached out to the guys at Spool Imports? They are a Ross dealer, I can imagine they would have the rings just sitting on the shelf (I could be wrong).
    • There's one for sale at Grand Auto Wreckers in Lonsdale (SA), for .... let's suggest the sum they're asking for will make you cry. You may have to embrace the idea of modifying the rear subframe to accept some other diff. You could probably find a way to wangle a shortnose into there, with a custom rear adapter and some sort of shenanigans to relocate the front mounts. This has probably already been done by others, so there might be some guidance available as to how easy/impossible it is, out there in the googles. But you possibly needn't restrict yourself to Nissan diffs if you're going to contemplate that. There are similarish Toyota diffs, possibly some Euro ones, possibly some Seppo ones.
    • The ball joint taper and arm taper have to match angle and diameter, but just doing the bushes is a much better option.....seems like the industry moved to "it is cheaper to replace the whole arm than take on the labour for changing this bushes", glad the aftermarket supports it
