Anf - the best thing to use is "grease and wax remover" (used to be known as - Prepsol - the painters friend).

Supercheap sell the Septone brand in a spray can which is what I use.

However any Prepsol type product does the job to get rid of the marks left by running rich.

Only takes a minute or less. Spray on and wipe off.

Clear coat safe and all that stuff

Came home today to find this in the mail. 3 x 6.5in Lake Country pads (you choose which ones you want). Not bad for $54 delivered!

Rating: almost everyone I know stands by these which is why I got them. Hopefully they are better then Menzerna pads I have.

Black wow.

For exterior trims and rubber.

item_1303634019_blackwow_ki.jpg

The pre wow gets rid of wax and stuff, annoying that the chunky bits block the spray bottle and you have to open the lid to use it.

The Black wow is very good, instructions say "use one sesame seed size drop" thats a tiny amount, but it goes a long way. Amazing.

Pre wow: 6/10 it works ok but the bottle sux.

Black wow: 9/10 its real good and a tiny bit does heaps.

I need buffing pads that dont sht themselves after 10 minutes.

Are the Lake Country pads velcro like the Menzerna ones?

Better than the Menzerna for strong cutting power...... and turd polishing:

Good for buffing sanding marks out, like after painting and sanding the orange peel out.

And..... A silicone squegee for drying after a wash, i dont have to wring out my chamois once when drying.

I use Menzerna polishes with a MINT PRO RO

Love the Meguiars next gen wash.

Waxes range from Meguiars Gold Class liquid. My wax of choice at the moment. (this on top of the Wolfgang sealant)

Meguiars Next gen 2.0. Its a good wax that has a medium level of filling capacity.

meguiars-nxt-generation-tech-wax.jpg

Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant 3.0 (this stuff lasts months) Easy to apply, easy to remove. Takes 12 hours to cure.

I have tried a whole range of dodo juice waxes, while being nice to use I would say their longevity was not something to praise. I also have a bottle of dodo juice car wash but it falls short to the Meguiars next gen wash.

So many things to list in my arsenal I think would just be overkill. So Ill just post up some pics.

This is with next gen 2.0 wax.

This is with Meguiars gold class applied over wolfgang deep gloss. (Overcast doesnt do it justice) I would say the colour is deeper though.

Here are 2 cars with Wolfgang deep gloss. (I do like using this sealant)

I did a full paint correction on this Silvia.

R35 GTR track/street car.

Contamination removed with Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller and a 100g clay bar. Personally love the new Gyeon Iron for ferrous metals now.

Three stage machine polish with Menz FG500, PF2500 and SF4000 with orange cutting pad and black finishing pad using a DAS6PRO. Isopropyl alcohol used to clean surface between compounding and polishing.

Paintwork sealed and stacked with Duragloss DG111 and Dodo Juice Purple Haze from memory (I use a few different sealants/wax and this GTR was done a while ago).

    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
