Hey guys,

So i'm planning on purchasing an oil filter relocation kit. I have seen the trust/greddy ones going around but am unsure on the quality of them as the fittings they use on the hoses are hose clamp fittings as apposed to JIC (better seal, and have been told to use if i can) and the plate/adapter that goes where your oil filter is, screws on like a filter and i have heard these apparently leak?. Just after any experiences you guys have had with these kits or any recomendations on any particular kits.

I have found this one, not sure on it tho...

Heres the greddy kit im refering to.

any help would be appreciated! :)

Oh yeh. So I looked at the universal one u posted. That's the exact one I got but came with the cooler.

I had leaks and when I rung 999 automotive

They sent out a whole new kit for free.

So they must be cheap. Anyway. That one leaked too. So ended up getting speed flow fittings. Cost me heaps.

And the filter is a honda filter. Z79a So throw any spare skyline ones u might have away

One more thing., more chances of leaks. Hoses everywhere, they look crappy orange. Hard to mount in the correct position. I'm not sure with yours but my oil pressure gauge had to be mounted there aswell and that was a cross threaded head ache. Re tap- leaking nightmare.

I hope I've talked you out of it.

When do you change your oil? 6 months?..

Get over it and leave it. I will take you 6 months to sort all the added problems.

Mount a oil cooler if your gonna touch anything around there.

Cheers for the reply/advice! Appreciate it heaps and Yeh I'm probably going to steer clear of that one ;) what about the greddy / trust ones? Yeh I do change oil frequently.. But was interested in relocating filter to suit mods I plan on doing in the near future (forward facing plenum etc) obviously that'll affect the accessability of the filter.

Also I just recently purchased some new gauges which included oil temp and oil pressure and basically when I come to install them I figured I'll need to install them into a sandwich plate anyways so may aswell do it all together if that makes sense?

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
