Looks like I will be fitting the manifold and turbo to the 25 first. Engine is a long way a way with cost wise. Will be fitting over the next few weeks. Then getting it tuned. Want it done by the 24th of this month. Have a track day on the 26th.

Ok. So I have the bottom end back and about to bolt it together.

Just wanted to know what head gasket everyone uses in the rb30 25 neo builds. I know what thickness I need just not aure on witch one to use.

25 26 or 30.

Whats the best one?

Ok so have picked up the 30 head gasket and now trying to sort out the timing belt. Do you use the 25 tencher and idler or do you use the 30 ones. Also what brand belts is everyone using. Tried to find a t291 gates belt in racing series and gates Australia don't have them. I know people use the dayco std one but wanted to have something with better quality thats all.

You didn't read my answer.

Use any brand belt you want, it doesn't matter unless making huge power. I used a standard run of the mill Dayco belt.

Seeing as RB30 doesn't use an idler you may find it hard to use that. Like I said RB25/RB30 use the same tensioner bearing so it doesn't matter.

Okay then I would buy the most expensive belt you can get, maybe get in contact with OS Giken and see what belt they used on their 26 strokers. Meanwhile everyone else will be over here using the inferior Dayco belt just fine.

Was speaking with a bloke the other day and he said that the top deck of the block needs a different finish for the cometic head gasket. Never used them before so don't know if this bloke was telling the truth or Tring to blow smoke up my arse.

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
