Haven't been on here for along time too. Had my eye on that gtr as well but ended up buying a midnight purple r33 gtr with a bit done too it. How did the dyno go?

Sau has become a ghost town, hasn't it :(

Total ghost town. I've tried contacting admins and watnot about trying to get it back up and running but get no replies.

PAL did you get Richards gtr?

was a small shit fight regarding that around 18 months ago of people who were keen to give it a red hot shot to get the forum going again but admins not willing to hand over the reigns

Yup, GTST V-Spec last on what, 2 years ago? More? Pretty rediculous ...

I'm sure Prank could change things up a bit if people wanted to put their hands up to be moderators / WA Execs to try and get the forum cranking again.

In addition to GTSTVspec I see Dan_the_man (WA Exec) likewise hasn't been on for over a year. Probably just comes down to people volunteering. It's a shame because the NSW / VIC / QLD clubs seem to get some decent track events etc going.

It is pretty sad to see the forum in a ghost town state. I joined 9 years ago and it was a hive of activity back then. Lots of events going on all the time. I don't even have a Skyline any more. I've sold both the R33 and the R34 and don't even live in Perth at the moment (in Canada for a two year work trip), but I still come on here every so often to see how things are going. Met a lot of great people through this club. Hopefully things pick up again one day.

I must say though, the club went through a stage of many people not attending events. I think the members were a bit spoilt by some very good mods who organised a lot of events. Then people started thinking that there were plenty of events to choose from, so they didn't need to attend all the events. Attendance to events started to drop so the mods started to lose interest. They didn't feel that their effort was valued any more. I guess that is what stopped them from trying. I have been to cruises where literally 5 members would show up. It is pretty disheartening when you plan a cruise, do a test run, print out 50-100 maps and 5 cars turn up.

Not trying to point fingers or anything, just want to give a little perspective. Hopefully things turn around in the future. It will take a team of enthusiastic members to drive it though.

at the end of the day everyone i know off this forum, is on antilag.com, which i have advertised several cruises on and no one has attended purely off advertising on SAU.

maybe just let it die, look at the WA Scene on SAU we just reset the top KPH over the standing 1km and not a single post?

Hello Michael I think you may have used to cruise with us a bit in the 'RICE' days? (I used to own a White JZX90 Toyota Cresta)

I have been a member of SAU almost 10 years now and certainly agree the WA Section is now a ghost town.

Admittedly I have only owned my GTR for a couple of years now so haven't paid much attention to this site before then.

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
    • meh, it was a good video, clear about the issue and how he dealt with it. A bit heavy on the RTV and very brave to put an RB in anything without rebuilding it first, but otherwise I thought it was good Dose, I'm not sure that having the pickup forward is a big issue; yes of course the oil could shift under brakes but the sump should never be empty enough for that to be a problem (unless you also have a higher volume oil pump, and that oil can't return from the head to the sump quickly enough)
    • I can donate $100 to your upgrade fund. So long as you can donate the IC7 my way....
    • I'd love a Haltech ECU, and Haltech 10 dash. Was having a chat with Rob and Andy @ Haltech when Rob put one in his MR2. First one I'm kind of interested in too, as you can dim it RIGHT down. Andy was saying bright dashes is one of his peeves too!
