R34 S2 Hitachi Cas Repair

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

My CAS on the Stagea S2 (hitachi type) had died so I will pass on how to fix it for around $140

No one had a replacement RSB-14K (gray colour) so I looked at what I could use.

I found the RSK-14 (black colour) will work with a slight modification.

PICT.1 Buy plug to suit CAS and make 1mm copper post-54472-0-66439000-1434962108_thumb.jpgpost-54472-0-55070100-1434962180_thumb.jpgpost-54472-0-30530900-1434962223_thumb.jpgpost-54472-0-48339100-1434962515_thumb.jpgwires short, soldier ends 7mm long.....file to 2mm wide about .8mm thick

PICT.2 Remove cover screws to access CAS and remove Large screw timing plate

Remove old CAS and fit new CAS

Put timing plate back on and tighten. Put cover back on

PICT.3 Insert new plug wires into old plug, clips MUST be opposite each other. (BIG NOTE .....OPPOSITE EACH OTHER) see picture

PICT.4 Tape up old plug upto new plug, try to keep dust and dirt out.

I gather the reason why there is a difference between the 14 and 14K is that once the plug is on, It's hard to get off (no clip at front)

I hope that helps everyone ......

JC

    • I'll bite. I no longer own any euro's, but I thought I'd share two of my favorites I owned. My 500hp B5 S4 and my 800HP E55 AMG. Yes I did attempt to drive the E55 in Canadian winters, that lasted all of a month as it was a death trap.
    • To be fair this is the wife’s car. However, I have been accused of owning more cars than I have pairs of undies. Luckily I change my undies more frequently than the cars.
    • Cheers Lads Looking at changing up a few things maybe go 2.8lt, bigger injectors with more a modern Turbo. Possibly transbrake and convert to E85 with Haltech ECU. Any thoughts on those Mods changes or better ideas? Want to try keep the car Street/Strip While also being weekend drivable still.
