Once of a lifetime opportunity! Who wants to live with me?

Basically, sold my car so now I can actually afford to move down the GC. As I'm working 5 days a week down here and driving 5 days a week from Brisbane to the Goldcoast its kind of a *little* draining. Was thinking might be better to get a more spacious or nicer 2 or 3 bedroom place rather than 1 cramped or cheap one. As a rough guestimate, the maximum I'd want to pay would be around $130 each and share of the bills and all of that side of things.. probably broadband.. blah.

Looking for somewhere around ashmore, mermaid waters, benowa, etc however not too fussed to be honest, but not too far from anything. Definitely not a fan of high-rise apartment living - which probably leaves a unit, townhouse or something like this. This place MUST have a garage, and I need dibs on it most of the time for car related projects in the next 12 months I have in mind. But I am sure we can work things out... as for the time being I don't have another fancy car (yet... )

Just thought I'd may as well post here. You never know. Maybe you have a friend, family member, work coleague or somebody you know who is looking for another place and is in a similar situation to me. No psychos obviously, and *must* have a steady hopefully well paid job and do their share of house work etc.

Ben and Cyrus are living a nice little cozy SAU household there  so who knows who else is out there.

Time frame would roughly within 2-3 weeks but basically ASAP. I have to give at least 2 weeks notice from my current place unfortunately.

To apply, PM whatever you need to know about me and vice versa, and please enclose a saucy lingerie shot so I can assess the applicants :jk:

no ( read: i already have enough of you in my "collection" )

just as a quick example.. this *could* be your house! http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rsear...=o&id=401008922 .. but of course somewhere like that would be a bit exxy between two until the other room (or two) was filled.

look! room for two skylines ! ->> http://www.realestate.com.au/401089802

Funnily enough i am actually considering moving into a bigger place, my small unit really inst big enough for everyone at the moment, would you consider looking at a 4 bedroom place? Must have double lock up though as i would want my babay inside and that leaves space for you.

Also you would have to put up with my kids every second week or so.

But I would be looking at helensvale/southport area, and time frame would be later when lease runs out, in about 3 mths

hehe.. how about u bend over and...

SAU big brother.. that could have its merits too... but problem is I actually have a *job* and sometimes half a brain so don't think it would fit the current criteria.

Dodgey mechanic day every weekend!

hehe.. yup.. which also turns into dodgy house repairs.. dodgy drinking games.. and well just house dodgy :)

ska: 4 bedroom would be really great.. would have no qualms living with u or ben.. or kids occasionally.. but don't think i can wait that long :) the place i am in is beginning to suxor.

Yeah didnt think you could wait, oh well dont matter we'll find something, anyway just found out lease ends in Nov so that will be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long to wait :)

Ah well wasnt meant to be then :(

I want to live in a warehouse, but erin says its a stupid idea.

cops arse!

Convert the mezzanine floor into a living area and have a whole shed to do stupid things in. I've got visions of F&F moments... Cops are after a pack of hoons, everyone comes racing in, I drop the roller door, cops go by, roller door goes up and hoons go off the opposite direction. Yayayay. Anyway, I thought it'd be cool.

werd, my ideal home is a 50m by 50m warehouse

The ultimate laziness... Drive your car from the computer to the bathroom via a quick stop over at the fridge and if you can afford the petrol, a lap around the lounge room.

well ya mom use to tell ya not to play with your RC car in the house lol you can play with your car in there :)

House Rule No 1 NO shagging on the cars :aroused:

    • One thing I can tell you is, do it properly the first time. If you encounter unexpected problems just let the car sit for a week or two if you have to get some other parts or figure stuff out.  I'd have said go and use as many OEM parts as possible but since you want to change the turbo later on a custom kit is probably the better choice. Since I have no experience with RB25 just compare parts diagrams and images before buying a line kit and it should be easy to see if it has everything you need. Amayama has very good parts diagrams and part number lists, that is what I used a bunch to figure out what I might need. And don't forget to plan ahead and possibly renew other stuff that's easy to get to while you're in there doing the turbo lines. Happy wrenching
    • Update 4:   Hi all, good news. Engine is running and all the gaskets and seals seem to be working as intended. No leaks so far, even the JB Weld seems to hold. I flushed out the old coolant a few times and put in fresh coolant, not Nissan stuff, I decided to try the Ravenol Protect FL22, they claim it works for a wide variety of JDM cars and the opinions on it by some people were pretty good. And it has the nice poison green color! And man am I glad I bought a coolant system tester earlier this year, vacuum filling works wonders on this engine. I can definitely recommend this to anyone still doing it the old school way. All you need is compressed air supply. Will have to do a small test drive as soon as I can, I removed the gauge cluster again as the tacho needle was still bouncing around a bit but it was much better than before already.  I also found some cracks on all 4 tires inner and outer sidewalls. Apparently these tires should 't be parked on for extended periods or be kept under 0 degrees during storage, which I did not know. Clearly the previous owner didn't look into those details either, he probably bought them just cause they are cool semi-slicks. I'm just wondering how tf I am supposed to reach 30-80 degree tire temperatures on the public road consistenly, these tires were never going to work for my use case. I'll probably order Continental SportContact7 ones as these are the best allround summer tire available right now and I don't think I'll need anything crazier for now. Do let me know if you have experience with various tires and which ones you recommend.
    • You have no idea how many goddamn boxes I received these past three months haha Most have been put to use by now though, luckily
    • Not going to pretend I didn't do a bit of junky work this time around, but mostly due to the fact that some things I am not willing to spend days fixing right now, like wiring. I try to do most things properly the first time around.
    • Regardless of neglect or incompetence, fixing either is tedious and annoying. Most of the neglect on my car is definitely rust. I hope I can at least pass inspections later on and they won't fail the car due to slightly corroded hardlines. I was generous with rust converter and wax and it looks ok, most lines in the rear are hard to see properly anyways.  Definitely will test them though to make sure they don't rupture under pressure, in that case the car isn't going anywhere this year.
