The Baron
The Hyundai station refuels their ix35 to 350 bar pressure - this is the pressure used for industrial equipment like forklifts. The public vehicle infrastructure will standardise at 700 bar. The Mirai also prefers an electronic handshake to test system integrity which the Hyundai station is missing. The Mirai could theoretically use it but we'd only get half the amount of Hydrogen in the tank and thereby also halving the range. It's a good start but Infrastructure will need to be improved.... Thats good info, thanks! Interesting, but its all very early days eh. Do you see this being a viable alternative to Petrol/Diesel (incl hybrids) and electric vehicles? The Baron
Toyota has a stated goal of 3000 Mirai per year and 30000 Fuel cell cars on the road by 2020...... So yeah - this is real... Whether Australia wants to play in the space remains to be seen....
