ahxching
Hey guys, Just recently reached 100k on my 2006 V36 350gt Skyline. Motor is VQ35HR. Just wondering what is required for the Major service? Or if anyone has any suggestions on parts or where to buy? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/460814-v36-vq35hr-100k-service-what-is-required/ Share on other sites
scotty nm35
Oil and plugs, air filter, just the usual. I usually replace all fluids when I buy an import, as the K's are so unlikely to be correct anyway. At least that way I can keep track of when they were all done, and fill with good synthetics. If you haven't changed the pollen filter, do that, they are usually disgusting after 100,000. ahxching
Is there no need to change timing belt, power steering belt, water pump, seals? sonicii
I don't think there has been a Nissan V6 engine with a timing belt since the VG engine in the mid 90s.. the VQ engines run a chain external drive belts should be replaced when they show signs of aging, I don't think there is any specific km figures for them. Same with waterpump, it is driven off the timing chain, and doesn't have a scheduled change interval. Seals should be replaced if they leak, but again, no specific KM intervals. colin.ssc
Make sure to check for CV boot leaks, bushes and end links as well. Not specific to 100k kms but have found a lot of people never check for these issues. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/460814-v36-vq35hr-100k-service-what-is-required/#findComment-7632402 Share on other sites

Every Stagea/V series I have on the hoist needs rear diff bushes, and compression bushes. colin.ssc
Yea seen a few of them driving around making so much noise and they just said they didnt know what it was. Especially in the Australian heat, rubber/plastic stuff tend to harden and die faster.
