G'day - trying to figure out a brake upgrade, my GT FOUR came with 12mm brake caliper bolts, I was hoping to upgrade to GTT brakes, which take 14mm bolts.

Are all 4wd front hubs alloy?

Can you safely drill out the hub to 14mm?

Is that the best option?

I've had GTT brakes installed on my GT-Four, the hubs were drilled out to accommodate the larger bolt.

- R34 GTT brake master cylinder installed

- The rear brake line connection to caliper had to to be modified to suit.

There will be a metal surround that goes around the hub (From memory it was the rear and that will need to be cut off to allow room for the bigger rotors.

I used the 12mm bolt with a 1mm bush around it.....

That works the other way to what op is asking. He has a 12 mm hole he needs to stick a 14mm bolt through .

I made some new inserts with the correct threads, knocked the ones out of the r34 callipers and tapped mine in.

Could make more if you are interested. Some guys drill out to suit the 14 mm bolt but it doesn't leave much meat.
