MMmm ok, I bought this car with a 3 inch straight through already on it.

It has the large twin tip Jasma muffler.

As much as I'd hate to say it , it's just too loud.

Giving me a headache with every day driving.

I reversed up a steep driveway early last Saturday and woke up the whole street.

The deep growl at low rpm is awesome, but mid range ..... :yucky:

There's a crackle that just echoes off everything I pass.

So can anyone suggest a muffler that will have minimum loss of power, no drone and still a nice sound.

Forget Varex Xforce, aint gonna waste $500 on a muffler..., plus extra $$ on install

cheers

Fujibitsu legalis R is by far the best system. Straight bolt up proven to flow over 300kw atw and a nice sound with absolutely no drone and is legal volume. If you get one and need it fitted bring it over and I'll bolt it up.

^What he said

I swapped my stock variable system for a Fujitsubo and made a huge difference and highly recommend it.

If you are interested in my old system I'm happy to sell it. It's a factory variable system

Mine looks the same as Luis.

What's the deal with the second mid muffler ???

Does is act as a resonator or something ?

I'll put it up on ramps and take some pics tomorrow..

Thanks Josh for the offer mate

I'm assuming twin tip is louder than single.

Twin tip is designed to flow faster ??? Less time for sound to be absorbed..

I think my muffler is slightly larger than Luis and completely hollow.

I put a stick in there and couldn't feel a thing.

I'll take some measurements tomorrow and db test it.

Mate the varex systems are way too loud when open and so restrictive when closed. These engines have such loud low rev engine sound and its hard to make an exhaust that is not loud.

Ive had aa apex-n1, straight through with varex, fujitsubo legalis r and now a kakimoto hypermega and have to say that the fujitubusu legalis is the quietest followed closely by the kakimoto hypermega n1. If you can get your hands on either of these systems you will be more than happy.

Loudest system ive had is the apex-i N1. This thing can be heard from like 4 streets away.... stupid loud

This is my old system next to my new one

This is actually a stock V35 coupe mid section joined to the stock M35 rear muffler... The stock V35 sedan/M35 Stagea is about 10 times bigger...

It is a cheap change quick change over that is a tonne lighter and does make it sound a little bit nicer than stock... And yes, I did this mod... :-)

I wondered why the mid pipe always looked different to other stock M35's exhausts I have seen. How was the droan compared with the V35 mid section after you swapped it

There was none...

Was able to use bluetooth device clipped to sunvisor without any problems before and after changing the mid section. I ran it with the coupe mid section for a couple of years and around 25,000km. Sold the car with it, and pretty certain that the guy who bought it also left it on there.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
