Hi folks, I am trying to find a company that will ship a replacement windscreen for my beloved axis to the UK. None of the firms my insurance company uses can source one and I have been told nissan dont make them anymore.(is this bs?)

I can get windscreens for my C34 Stagea so I am sure that they will be available for the NM35.

I am not sure what you mean by "firms that your insurance company use".

Get into your phone book and on the internet and look up every auto glass supplier and ask them if they can help.

I am sure that someone in NZ would ship you a windscreen but it would not be cheap and seems silly.

If you really can't get one in Britain ask Jesse Streeter if he can get one to you: http://jessestreeter.com/

P.S. are you a film director?

Yeah thats what I am doing.... but the nm35 parts market is tiny over here as there are probably less than ten in the country. It seems no one has the glass in the uk.

I have glass cover on my fully comp insurance, so they have prefered firms to do the job, as they cant supply the glass, I was looking for any possible options to get it myself.

Think there is more of a chance of finding a screen in russia / eastern europe, but i dont speak the lingo so good.

Ps

Wouldnt mind his money

Have you approached Nissan?

They should be able to look up your VIN and order the correct windscreen (if it has cold pack option etc).

You may need to find the "right" dealership though. We have some over here that won't touch imports, but the majority are willing to take our money.

Even better would be to grab the part number from the website below and ask for a price on a specific part.

EDIT: actually, the part number for the glass should be one of these: http://nissan.epc-data.com/stagea/nm35/6838-vq25det/body/720/72613/. Just go by the production period and whether you have the cold pack or not.

Hi There,

Like I said on your facebook post, the V35 sedan windscreen is identical to the M35, so it might be worth seeing if that throws up any more options in the UK. The cold pack thing is just down to the heating elements in the bottom edge of the windsreen, so push come to shove, probably not so important.

Only real issue between my origional JDM windsreen and the AUS made V35 replacement, was the lack of the blue tinted section at the top... Again, something I could live with..

Other suggestion, might be if anyone in Europe has imported any of the Infiniti G35 (2002-2007) sedans or order one from the US though Infiniti there. It would be a stock part for them.

Good luck with your search!!

I have checked the epc with my vin, and have the correct part number.

E-mailed jesse streeter but he doesn't want to ship a screen as half get busted in transit. So thats fair enough.

Will try contacting nissan re the avalability of the v35 screens

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
    • Yeah, I guess its pretty easy to get to if this doesn't work. Just wait till next oil change and pull it out. I am going to have to do the oil pan gasket soon and thought I'd just replace it while I was there.  Thanks
    • All that matters is you're safe and you were able to type that post. Hopefully heaps of parts you can recover for the next shell.
