Hi there, I have an R32 GT-R which was recently broken into, and they broke my door handle and pushed in the lock to gain entry. It's almost back together now that I've found all the parts. Question is how do i replace the drivers side exterior door handle? I can't seem to find it on the forums or elsewhere online. Thanks

well that sucks, good to see you still have the car....

You need to remove the internal door trim. There may be a DIY somewhere, but if not there are screws around the perimeter and one in the handle in the pull middle of the door. everywhere else are push in clips (pry carefully so as not to break them) and then pull upwards to pull it out of the window channel. Then move the plastic out of the way.

The handle is held on by 2 nuts (10mm head) but you will also need to carefully unhook the push rods that link to central locking and between the lock and the barrel.

If you want to retain the original key combination in the new lock then take the new lock and your original key to a lock service and they can change the combination of the lock to match your key.

If you have the key code number from the original key it is even better as they can set the combination to be exact and not just match your worn key,

This way you do not have to change all of the locks in your car or have multiple keys.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
