Has anyone DIY made up tabs similar to the Bee*r wings for GTR's? They use the factory mounts and put a larger blade ontop of the position the standard one sits.

I've got a 33 that is used for club days and track events and I want to chuck a giant f**k off wing on it for a drift day we're doing. Car will be trailered so being horribly illegal isn't an issue.

If anyone has done this and can provide me some decent photos (or even a CAD drawing) that would be sick. I think Richo did something similar before getting that topstage wing? Not sure.

Do you need a big spoiler, more rear downforce, for a drift day.

I believe richo made larger end plates but i didnt read of anything else...

No it's 100% for wank. You know, fun? :-)

The 33 has all the fruit. 25/30, big brakes good pads, braided everything. It's pretty well sorted. I wanted to lighten it up a bit with some fun.

I'm not here for the wing....just waiting for you to start a build thread:1310_thumbsup_tone1:

Ahh fair enough. This part of it from another forum. I figured that SAU has had the same shit done to death over and over again no point posting it. But here you go!

P.S Ignore the messy factory. I had a factory in oakleigh just storing some bits (3 drift cars, a bunch of engine bits and it all ended up disassembled on the floor lol)

Or part of the thread:

Now the current stage! So my engine hydrolocked and bent a rod

:(

Enter: RB30DET Neo.

Running the same turbo setup, upgraded to 1000cc denso injectors on an aftermarket rail, earls fittings (Cheers earl!), GTR FPR due to logistics of the rail etc.

Still sticking with the Nistune.

Happy? :)

Anyway, back to wing stuff...

Thanks mate, looks like a lot of work, good job!

The more info the better, it helps everyone with their builds too ;)

Haha its true!

I might post it up sometime.. Still in the middle of tuning it haha.

Now! Anyone done one of the wing things? I know richo did something similar so thats the kind of thing im going for.. but ridiculously big. Drift wang spec.

I'm contemplating a mod for my R33 GTR wing too.  But I don't really like the look of the raised wings.

So, basically I plan to extend the wing on the sides with more wing surface (cut from the OEM since I'm running a Carbon centre wing).  Flat end plates on those winglets.  I do my own carbon fibre overlay and epoxy so just need to ensure the carbon weave is similar to the existing carbon wing.

Then for added down force I want to fabricate a flap extension for the back of the existing wing.  I will probably contour it to give a bit more aggressive look but plenty of surface.  That will be tied to the existing wing and braced with turnbuckle supports tied to the boot.

All design planning phase right now.

Let me know what you come up with!

I have a big GT wang to use. Mines more for wank when I do drift events. The GTR wing stays on it. I want to be able to unbolt it and put the standard blade back in for when it's doing anything else!

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
