I tested my R32 GTR for the first time with a G-Tech Pro yesterday for a few 0-100 runs. I am interested to know anyone elses experience with 0-100 times(and what power their car is producing). Has anyone got anywhere close to the 4.79 sec 0-100 they are supposed to do standard.

Now I didn't launch with 5000 rpm or anything (my clutch is on it's way out) and got a best of 5.73 secs(Only tried 5 times) with 200rwkw.

I am interested to know anyone elses GTR experience(GTS-T's feel free to respond also).

I have an apexi speed meter original in mine (dont know how accurate it is) but i read a 4.3 once and can usually keep them constant 5.3's (GTST with Auto dif ratio 4.39:1) only gets about 102ks in second gear

my r32 GTR has a power fc and avcr with 1 bar. launched it at 5000 one night at 10 degrees ambient racing my mates sti and the best i could do was about 5.2 sec timed by the same meter. Im guessing u need to launch at like 6000 or something to prevent the thing being bogged and dropping revs/boost. Mind you, after a launch at 5000 the clutch smells like Chernobyl.

4.34 was the best i got when i first got my car with a gtech, clutch was average, slipped a little, and had a passenger and crap tyres ... since i have upgraded clutch (bites ALOT harder) and bit better tyres, and i think my driving has got a little better... i did a few runs that night was getting around mid 4 sec 0-100

~260rwkw....

I find if i don't launch, or bog, i get around 5sec 0-100, i recon same gtech, same flat road, with my new clutch, tyres etc. i could get closer to 4sec flat

Was running 12.4's on the gtech that night as well (passenger, full tank fuel, clutch slip etc..) but been told gtechs aren't very accuriate.

i was launching around 5500-6000 i think... but couldnt full throttle right away since the clutch would just slip.

I think G-Tech definately flatters. I tried a G-Tech a few years back in my stock Civic VTiR and it consistantly showed low 7s, best of 6.98s. I would be surprised if a stock Civic VTiR could pull an 8s flat. Which is of course why I sold it and bought a Skyline.

I remember reading about someone using one on 1/4 track and it showed 0.5 to 1.0s lower than the track times.

GTechs can read "optimistically" if not mounted firm against the windscreen, as they can lean back and as a result read higher gforce. 4.7s is dead on what a mate of mine was getting in his near stock R32 GT-R on mine, had 3" exhaust at the time.

My R33 GTS25t does reliable 4.9s on a Passport GTimer with 211rwkw.

4.9 is impressive in a gtst with 211rwkw, must have good launches ;)

Thanks :) I am not sure what a "good launch" is rated as being with a GTS25t, but I run 255" tires on it and don't get much more than scuffing - just enough for it to not bog. 60ft times (based on the GTimers reporting) range from 2.05-2.09s for the 4s runs.

Im not familiar with the Gtech but if its the same as the Blitz power meter and RSM, then it can be easily tricked by wheelspin

Ie you can get to 100km/h alot quicker because the wheels break traction, speedo jumps up to a 100km/h when the car is only going 80 etc

But GTRs wouldnt have this problem obviously :)

nah, the gtechs and AP22 etc use an accelerometer to measure g forces, so they are not related to wheel speed. I think its an option on the RSM as well. As long as they are mounted correctly they should be accurate.

BUt yes, if its just reading off wheel speed its pretty easy to trick.....if the wheels are spinning enough you can get to 100 pretty quick :)

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
